2014 has already got off to a great start for a lot of people; Olivia Palermo got engaged, Kaley Cuoco got married, and now Hussein Chalayan has an epic new job as Vionnet’s demi-couture designer. Congrats!
“I’m extremely happy about this collaboration because I think that Hussein is a supertalented, forward-thinking designer,” said Vionnet creative director Goga Ashkenazi. “He is a true artist, very conceptual; he thinks out of the box and has a strong architectural approach. He represents what Madeleine Vionnet represented in her era.”
High praise indeed; we can definitely see where Goga was coming from if Hussein Chalayan’s work at his eponymous label – which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year – is anything to go by.
We’re excited to see what the new collection brings; it’ll be unveiled on January 21st during Couture Fashion Week in Paris so keep your eyes peeled!
