First Debenhams took the plunge and introduced size 16 mannequins into its Oxford Street store, and now House of Fraser is launching a brand new plus size online boutique. Is the high street slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that women comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes?
“As a reaction to the growing demand for more plus size womenswear, we have created an online boutique that showcases some of the most exciting brands from around the world,” said Louise Bailey, a spokesperson for House of Fraser.
“We know our customers are women who want trend led pieces and won’t compromise on style or fit so we have carefully selected an assortment of brands that together create the style conscious woman’s perfect wardrobe.”
The boutique will stock everything from occasionwear to swimwear to all else in-between in sizes 14 to 28, and we can expect to see the first of the pieces drop in March this year.
