joseph altuzarra cfda winner

It was a big night in New York last night, as the 2014 CFDA Awards took place at the famous Lincoln Centre ready to honour some of the highest achievers in fashion.

We’ll get straight down to business and reveal that the highly anticipated Womenswear Designer of the Year award went to the one and only Joseph Altuzarra; he beat off stiff competition from both Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs which really does speak volumes.

Former Womenswear Designer of the Year winners Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen once again walked away with an accolade at this year’s ceremony, as they bagged the Accessories Designer of the Year award for The Row. Nice work, ladies.

And as we told you a few months ago, Rihanna was honoured with the Fashion Icon award, while Tom Ford went home with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.

A huge congratulations to each every one of the nominees and winners (click here to see the full list!) for their gargantuan achievements in the world of fashion. ‘Til next year!
