Looking flawlessly beautiful, Meghan Markle took to the stage last night at The British Fashion Awards to present Givenchy’s artistic director Clare Waight Keller with the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year.

Speaking to a room filled with celebs including Victoria and David Beckham, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and many more, Meghan said, “It is such an honour to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.”

She continued, “As all of you in this room know, we have a deep connection to what we wear. Sometimes, it’s very personal and sometimes it’s emotional. But for me this connection is rooted in, really being able to understand that it’s about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women.”

The designer whom was responsible for Meghan’s stunning wedding dress has also been the Duchess of Sussex’s go-to designer for many of her outfits since the big day. Therefore, it was only fitting that the mum-to-be bestowed Waight Keller with the prestigious award.

Upon acceptance of her award, Waight Keller said, “This woman is so amazing. I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you on such a personal moment in their life… I can’t thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment.”

Opting for a one-shouldered black velvet Givenchy gown, gold bracelets by Pippa Small and strappy heels by Tamara Mellon, Meghan kept her makeup minimal. She finished off her look with a low bun and black nail polish.

Held at the Royal Albert Hall and in partnership with Swarovski, other winners on the night included Kaia Gerber for Model of the Year, Pierpaolo Piccioli took home Designer of the Year and Virgil Abloh won Urban Luxe.
