Description: Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – “Rapid, long-lasting hydraton in a refreshing oil free gel. Claims to moisturise, smooth skin, plump up fine lines and lock in moisture and to prevent dehydration. £26.43 for 50ml.

Application: Can be used like a daily moisturiser, a fixer or a mask. Apply under or over make up whenever skin feels dry or just to maintain healthy skin. Apply more and leave on for 5 minutes to use as a face mask then cleanse off.

The look: The clear pot with silver top and writing looks classic, it is perfect for those who like their dressing tables to look stylish and a little 50s inspired. The product is a light pink which is a very attractive shade and the consistency looks light and smooth.

The smell: Virtually no smell at all, there is a gentle scent of moisturiser but otherwise nothing, a good start for a face moisturiser.

The feel: A gel like consistency, glides on easily and smoothly across the face, it is cooling and refreshing, although slightly tacky to touch once applied.

Result: I was sceptical at first, I personally prefer creamy moisturisers, I didn’t like the tackiness it left on the skin as it made spreading my foundation harder than normal. I was all ready to give a mediocre review, until I looked in the mirror a few hours later and my make up was flawless. My skin the next morning still felt soft and moisturised.

Overall: Actually really quite brilliant, honestly couldn’t see it working at first, but my skin feels great, soft without being oily.

Score:: 9/10

The brand: Clinique was launched in 1968, it set out to create make up and skincare products that were 100% fragrance free and allergy tested. It is a no frills beauty brand that is great for sensitive skins and for people looking for a new skincare routine.
