After an outstanding S/S10 show in London, Osman Yousefzada is branching out into the world of shoe design.
The London designer , who added jewellery to the Osman line earlier in the year , will be extending his designing hand to include footwear in his collections.
“I wanted to extend my handwriting from ready-to-wear into a pair of shoes which are recognisable, and have a strong signature; design-led sculpted pieces, like the clothes, Osman told Vogue UK.
“I have always had problems finding the right shoe for the show, so I sat down and worked on quite a few ideas, and came up with this one which fused a stiletto with a wedge, keeping it streamlined but without making it clunky.
The seriously steep shoes, which cocoon around the foot for comfort and close with a zip at the back, sort of remind us of a clog , a super stylish clog, of course, and one that had a run in with a rather large wedge.
Available in navy blue, dove grey and black suede, the shoes are set to retail exclusively at Browns for £460.
“They are show-stopping structural pieces of art that sit alongside his collection perfectly, said Pam Brady, Browns’ footwear and accessories buyer. “We have a very strong customer base for Osman so we don’t expect these to be around for long.
Better hurry if we’re to get a piece of the action, then.
