We bet Tamara Mellon had a weekend better than most when the Queen revealed her birthday honours list on Saturday – she’s set to receive an OBE.
And we can’t say we’re surprised – the well-heeled founder and chief creative officer of Jimmy Choo is doing as much for fashion as has done our feet.
‘I am so thrilled to be receiving this great honour and to be recognised in this way,” she said. “I am grateful to everyone at Jimmy Choo – and our customers around the globe – for helping make our success possible.”
But Ms. Mellon’s not the only fashionable face set to receive such an honour; Harold Tillman, CEO of Jaeger and Aquascutum, chairman of the British Fashion Council and all round industry icon, will be awarded a CBE later this year, Elle UK reveal.
And they’re both in good company – Christopher Bailey, Amanda Wakeley, Luella and Stephen Jones have all been on the receiving end of the Queen’s honours in recent years.
Congratulations to all those who made the final cut – we hear Buckingham Palace calling already.
