Starting off our Tuesday New York Fashion Week round-up is the ever-coveted Rodarte with its AW11 collection.

And with geometric printed aprons, architectural necklines, Grecian wrap around dresses, masculine tailored suits, draped full-length dresses, floaty feminine separates and double-collared dresses running as a main theme along the runway, the Mulleavy sisters have truly outdone themselves this time with cutting edge clothes to boot.

The predominant colour scheme of pale blues, mustard, red, navy and bold eye catching prints made way for a somewhat toned-down Seventies-inspired collection – and with Lindsey Wixson modelling a bright red metallic skirt and leather platform boots to match, the iconic era has definietly played a key part behind these hippy chic clothes.

We couldn’t think of a better way to brighten up the dull mornings ahead.
