Anya Hindmarch (handbag designer, famous for the “I’m not a plastic bag” tote) has been targeted for the fourth time in just six months by the infamous smash-and-grab gang. Understandably she is not a happy bunny, sending out a warning to the thieves Anya said,
“Just you wait, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve and next time you won’t be so lucky.”
Using a sledgehammer to smash through the window of the Anya Hindmarch store in New Bond Street, London, on Tuesday, two men on a moped, took off with £30,000 worth of goods.
Blaming a “complete lack of visible policing” in the West End for the numerous robberies that have taken place recently, Hindmarch and a number of luxury brands are having to step up their security in a bid to tackle the problem.
The question is will the thieves finally be deterred or will they find more sophistcated methods to bypass the latest security systems?
