Roger Vivier’s artistic director, Bruno Frisoni, has decided to give his two-pence worth when it comes to what Kate Middleton should be wearing on her big day later this month – and for once, it’s not about her wedding dress!
Instead Roger has decided to stick with what he knows best and move lower down the scale to Kate’s footwear, and says even her choice of shoes has to be a carefully planned and thought-through operation.
“It’ll be one of those century moments – she has to be exceptional,” he says. “People want the dream. Her preoccupation must be to look incredibly surprising and immaterialist. The shoes will probably disappear under the dress and all you’ll be able to see is the point of the toe – this, therefore, has to look exquisite.”
The French shoe designer says Kate shouldn’t worry about choosing a classic pair of sky-scrapers either – a pair of simple pumps hold just as much wow factor.
“If you wear flats you look more fragile,” he says. “When you see a 16 or 17-year-old in high heels they look as if they are floating. Sexiness is about what you are and the way you are than being super tall. There are many high heels that aren’t sexy at all. I think high heels do give women confidence though and that’s what men love about them. If you wear the right shoe, you’ll just walk into a room smiling.”
Frisoni has worked with the likes of Alber Elbaz, Karl Lagerfeld and even Yves Saint Laurent in the past, reports Vogue UK – so if we were you Kate we’d hold his opinion in high regards.
