If you’re anything like us London folk then after reading this post you’ll wish you could somehow transport yourself overseas to the Big Apple to watch one of Barneys’ most ingenious publicity events unfold (nb: New York readers we’re totally jealous).

As reports go, British heiress Daphne Guinness will apparently be getting dressed for the Met Ball on May 2nd in the superstore’s shop window for all passers-by to see.

Weird but wonderful, right?

No doubt this is all the doing of Barneys’ new guest editor Carine Roitfeld, and we simply love her for it.

But in addition to baring all in front of a nation of gawking onlookers, Ms. Guinness will also be displaying a selection of pieces from her immaculate clothing collection – including items she acquired after she bought Isabella Blow’s entire wardrobe, reports the Cut.

We just hope someone live streams the entire escapade.
