American actress Kate Bosworth has decided to lend her soothing vocals for Cotton Incorporated’s latest Fabric of My Life campaign, and if we’re honest, we think she’s done a pretty good job considering it’s her first singing scoop.
The campaign comes as part of a year long advertising venture scheduled to debut today, with Ms Bosworth following the likes of singers Leona Lewis, Colbie Caillat and Zooey Deschanel, who are also credited with making the cotton campaign such a huge hit on the fashion scene.
But it seems the producers wanted a breath of fresh air for their latest face.
“Kate was an ideal choice for this year’s commercial,” said Cotton Incorporated executive Glenn Sciachitano. “Her beauty, her status as a Hollywood actress and a fashion icon were a perfect fit for our strategy: to show women that cotton is a part of all aspects of their lives, even if that life includes a walk on the red carpet.”
The Fabric of My Life ad is a spin-off of Cotton’s popular Nineties campaign, The Fabric of Our Lives, which showcases the role cotton plays in the everyday lives of consumers, and since it aired in 2009, the company has received huge credit for its work. So naturally, Kate was a little nervous about lending her vocal skills.
“[Kate] was, in fact, anxious [to sing], and she said this commercial will give her a chance to make her singing debut,” said spokesman Ric Hendee.
The new campaign is also filled with plenty of high-end designer goodies to oggle at, from a Preen chambray dress, Prada, Proenza Schouler, and Rodarte separates, and a Nina Ricci blush cotton dress, reports the Daily Mail.
Super cute, right?
