With breaking news landing this morning that Hannah MacGibbon has stepped down from her post at Chloé, it seems the world of fashion is experiencing yet another shake up in the designer department.

But unlike previous step-downs and dismissals, her replacement has already been announced, with former Pringle of Scotland designer Clare Waight Keller now taking the helm at the French fashion house, allowing Hannah to ‘pursue new projects.’

“We are grateful to Hannah for her contribution and commitment to Chloé,” said the label’s ceo Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye. “Her considerable talents will be missed; we are proud to count Hannah among the hall of fame of great designers who have marked the history of Chloé since 1952. I wish Hannah well in her new projects.”

Hannah’s departure follows months of rumour and speculation as to whether or not she would stand down from her title, but although the label denied such gossip, it now looks as though all that hearsay has come true.

“I will always have a deep affection for Chloé and am very grateful to the company for having given me this opportunity,” said MacGibbon.

Having remained the creative director at Chloé since 2008, Hannah brought plenty of breezy and romantic collections to the table, and was instrumental in launching the house’s fragrances.

Waight Keller resigned from her position at Pringle in March this year, and will now join Chloé as its new creative director in June, reports Elle UK.
