It appears that designers love the peep-toe so much that they want to extend it into Fall- in my boots. I like the peep-toe as much as the next girl, or guy, but I must say that I’m having some cognitive dissonance over this concept of a peep-toe boot.
Starting at the ankle, these Maison Martin Margiela Peep-Toe Booties ($795) are adorable- until you get to the toe. Not only would my feet be cold up here in the North, but what color would I put on my toes that would be appropriate for an open-toed boot.
With that said, I do, however, love these tuxedo peep-toe ankle booties by Anne Klein New York ($255). The openings on the side, combined with the stiletto heel lend more to how the peep-toes should always be- with style.
The silk lace-up front of the shoes makes them not only wearable with pants but also with a hot black dress. The way these shoes are designed does not make the consumer think that the toe was absent mindedly left off, it’s obviously intentional.
