Today, Burberry unveiled its brand new ad campaign for AW11, but it also unveiled two new faces – 27-year-old actress Felicity Jones and 16-year-old model Mollie Smith.

They appear to be slipping in quite seamlessly alongside Burberry faves Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn – though we imagine it’s not too hard looking hot in the luxury label’s lapels – and at the risk of sounding easily pleased, the addition of their typically British surnames is especially fitting.

It’s all part of Bailey’s bid to build on the brand’s association with unearthing new talent and crossing the creative boundaries between fashion, music, and film, and by the looks of these Jean Shrimpton-inspired ads, we wouldn’t half mind being part of his gang.

“I was inspired by iconic British portraits and our own archive campaigns from the late 1960s of Jean Shrimpton using her trench coat to shelter herself from the poetic and romantic British weather,” says Christopher. “We wanted to create a group of portraits celebrating British actors, musicians and models.”

The ads were shot by fashion photography legend Mario Testino in London, and inspired by Burberry’s own ads in the Sixties, showcase variations of the label’s iconic outerwear for next season, assisted by effortlessly cool, simple styling and those fluffy Dalmation hats.
