We were getting a little bored of the Reiss website crashing and sold-out dresses fetching hundreds of pounds on eBay, so we were more than delighted when the new Duchess of Cambridge decided to step out in something – hold your breath – that wasn’t her usual style choice (read: a conservative Reiss dresses) last night.

Kate Middleton looked dazzling gliding down the purple carpet at the Absolute Return for Kids (Ark) charity gala with her beloved Prince William yesterday, and she chose to mark the occasion with a dress that was nothing less than spectacular.

Wearing a floor length, champagne-pink gown from Jenny Packham’s SS11 collection, which featured elegant crystal embellishment across the waist and net flutter sleeves for added softness, Kate looked every inch the perfect Princess.

But don’t let her delve into different designers fool you – she also wore her customary LK Bennet heels in blush, with a cute, girly bow on the ankle.

Adding in a pink box clutch, subtle sparkly earrings and that ring, Kate sparkled from every angle – quite literally.

Just one thing to note: no more weight loss, please.
