There’s so much we want to get through here, so we’ll start at the beginning. Lily Allen got married on Saturday not in a Chanel dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld, as previously reported, but in a lace empire gown by Delphine Manivet!

First of all, she looks lovely. The vintage-inspired dress from the Paris-based designer was actually made from two dresses – an under dress and a second made from lace – and featured sheer three quarter length sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, subtle fishtail skirt and a flattering empire line cut, finished with a three foot train and a full-length 1920’s veil.

The reason for the shape (and her radiant glow)? It was cleverly created to flatter and flaunt her new-found little stomach – yup, Lily’s also pregnant!

Her new husband Sam Cooper broke the news to guests at the wedding breakfast on Saturday after speculation began to mount over the singer’s small bump hiding under her streamlined dress – and her wedding dress designer later confirmed the news herself.

“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that – it is something wonderful,” she told the Telegraph. “You can see of course the little stomach – it looked very cute with the dress.”

So here’s what we’re thinking: what happened to Karl Lagerfeld? Was he ever going to design the dress? Perhaps she was never going to wear Chanel? Where did those rumours even come from?

Like we said, there’s too much to get through. Apparently Lily approached Manivet to design her dress back in January – a whole two months before those Karl rumours surfaced – after being recommended by a friend.

“For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful,” said Manivet, “so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.”
