Following on from yesterdays post on “The Model Manual” Author of the book Cathy McNew talks to fashion gates.
What has induced you to write a book? What is the book about?
I decided to write a book because I believed my experience in modeling could be truly beneficial to other aspiring models. Yes it is possible to learn from trial and error and your own experiences or mistakes but you’re learning the hard way. Life is about sharing our experiences and learning from others so that hopefully we can have an easier journey in life. I’m constantly looking around me and trying to learn from others in areas where I feel their
experiences outweigh my own. It’s important to learn from each other’s success or mistakes. Additionally, I noticed that there was a lot of misinformation circulating on the web. The modeling industry has a lot of people who pump their egos by masquerading as voices of authority. They may not even have real experience in the industry but they give advice anyway. It’s important for aspiring models to always question the source of who they’re getting information from. My book, Model’s Manual covers in detail everything an aspiring model needs to learn to develop successfully in this industry. I truly want to be of help to other young models getting started. I believe it’s important to give back the accomplishments you have enjoyed to help other’s possibly do the same.
