A spot of good news for all our American readers this morning – Mulberry has just opened doors to its first flagship store stateside, on New York City’s Spring Street.
The 5,000 square foot space in the heart of SoHo is a further step in the brand’s commitment to the US market – let’s not forget, last year the luxury label opened a dedicated New York showroom – something creative director Emma Hill, an adopted New Yorker by postcode, has been keen to do for some time.
And as we all know by now, Mulberry doesn’t do things by halves. So, to celebrate the new store and the label’s love affair with the Big Apple, Mulberry’s created two exclusive bag designs to be snapped up stateside-only.
The New York Clipper, a customised version of a classic Mulberry style, features darling NY-inspired detailing – its glossy Buffalo leather comes in red, white or blue (naturally), complete with a luggage tag displaying the label’s signature ‘Peace, Love, Apple’ motif, and will retail for $950 (£595).
But those wanting an extra special treat should cast their eyes to the exclusive modified Alexa, made in oak Ostrich and covered in dozens of gold apple-shaped rivets. Only 10 are available (!), but they come at a price – $6250 (£4000).
Both bags are available at Mulberry’s US stores and online at Mulberry.com.
