Despite the initial skepticism, Victoria Beckham much like The Olsen Twins has proven herself in the world of fashion. Now it appears the businesswoman intends to dominate the beauty industry too. J Crew launches two debut fragrances!

We knew it was only a matter of time ‘til J Crew entered the fragrance market, and just like we would expect, it’s doing it with a pretty big bang. J Crew is launching not one but two debut fragrances next week (pretty impressive how it managed to keep the news under wraps for so long – especially as we hear it’s taken years to complete!) which it created with perfumery Arquiste and master perfumer Carlos Huber. The inspiration behind the fragrances is pretty interesting too, as it reportedly came from Peggy Guggenheim’s1943 all-female gallery show “Exhibition by 31 Women”. The perfumes are respectively named No.31 and No.57 and have very different smells, which means that hopefully everyone will be happy. No.57 is unisex which is a great start, and according to the press release was “inspired by the woody scent of the gallery’s curved oak walls and the aromatic cocktails that filled the room.” No. 31 was “inspired by the provocative perfumes worn by guests” and “captures the essence and excitement of the avant-garde crowd.” Sounds pretty exciting – and we only have to wait ‘til Monday to sniff them for ourselves and pick a favourite. Lady Gaga unveils her new fragrance, Eau De Gaga

There’s a reason why Lady Gaga’s fans are so loyal to her, and that’s mainly because she’s so loyal to each and every little monster in return. Hence why she took to Twitter and Instagram to unveil the ad campaign of her brand spanking new fragrance Eau De Gaga before it went anywhere else. Pretty cool, right? Gaga’s second fragrance is unisex, which means it’s perfectly acceptable to buy for your boyfriend for the sole purpose of spritzing it on yourself too. According to Mother Monster herself, it’s a “clean and expensive” scent, and “an extremely sexy and arousing smell for all genders”, with notes of sparkling water, lime and leather. Sounds pretty interesting, we can’t wait to smell it! And we can’t go another second without mentioning the stunning accompanying ad campaign, shot by the very talented Steven Klein. Do we start with the gorgeous dress draped across her body or do we begin with the bevy of hunky topless men surrounding her? Eau De Gaga is slated for release later this autumn; we’ll give you more deets as soon as we get them!

Cheryl Cole wows in Zuhair Murad Couture for Storm Flower fragrance launch

We’re still pretty shocked about her seemingly abrupt wedding to Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini, but one thing that will never fail to shock us is how well Cheryl Cole can walk a red carpet and wow us with her outfit selection. The latest case in point: the launch of her brand spanking new fragrance, Storm Flower. Cheryl Cole, or to use new name, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (it’s going to take us a while to get used to that!) looked breath-taking in a soft pink coloured gown from the Zuhair Murad Couture autumn/winter 2013 collection, which came complete with a thigh grazing split. The thigh high slit in her dress and heavy eye make-up juxtaposed the feminine lace detailing of the dress perfectly, making for an all-round super-sexy look that made her the star of the show. We also love her newly lightened locks too; what say you? [Image]

Clémence Poésy rocks romantic Chloe for ‘Love Story’ fragrance launch

A few months ago, we told you that French actress and style maven Clémence Poésy was asked to reprise her role as the face of a Chloe perfume. Well, we still have a while to wait until her ad campaign for the fragrance is revealed, but we can definitely whet our appetites for what’s to come thanks to her appearance at the Chloe Love Story launch event. Clémence attended the launch, which was held at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, in a gorgeous pink printed layered dress from the Chloe autumn/winter 2014 collection and romantic red sandals. Given the nice seasonal weather and the nature of the perfume – love – she couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate outfit for the occasion. We can’t wait to see the ad campaign unfold later this year; keep your eyes firmly peeled! [Image c/o Chloe]

Katy Perry’s new fragrance is about female empowerment and rule breaking!

Evert since she kissed a girl and liked it – and told us about it – Katy Perry has been a bit of a rebel. Which is why her new fragrance, entitled Royal Revolution, is all about embracing your rebellious side! Katy Perry’s new fragrance is the third installment of her Killer Queen perfume range, and is “about female empowerment and breaking the rules”. At least according to Marsha Brooks, the global marketing vice president of Coty Beauty Fragrances – the people in charge of her last two perfumes. Until technology develops and enables us to sniff perfumes from the computer screen we will do our best to tell you what the scent smells like. It reportedly has top notes of pink freesia and pomegranate, while the heart comprises of sandalwood, orange flower and jasmine petals, while skin musk, vanilla orchid and blackthorn provide the finishing touches. Sounds rebelliously delicious if you ask us. We can’t wait to try it!

Pharrell and Comme des Garcons are collaborating on a fragrance!

Pharrell Williams has made quite a name for himself in the fashion biz – these past few months in particular thanks to his penchant for larger than life headgear – so it comes as no surprise to learn that he is working on his very own perfume! The musician will be teaming up with Japanese label Comme des Garcons for a unisex fragrance entitled Girl, to coincide with the release of his new album of the same name. “This is the first time we have created a fragrance for a musician and I can think of no greater talent and no greater gentleman to have done this with,” said Adrian Joffe, CEO of Comme des Garcons Parfums. “Pharrell knew exactly what he wanted the perfume to smell like right from the beginning. “It has been an honour to work with such a creative artist with a great vision, which for Comme des Garcons is the most important thing.” The scent is slated for release in September this year, although no other details are currently known. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more info. Are you excited about this new collaboration?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to release two fragrances

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be releasing not one, but two fragrances at the beginning of next year – but unlike their previous scents that have been aimed at their younger fans, they will cater to an adult audience. Finally! The Olsen twins will be releasing Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and Nirvana White, and the fragrances will be coming exclusively to Sephora in January. “Our brand is based on duality and this seemed the perfect way for us to explore that with a new customer at Sephora,” Mary-Kate Olsen explained. “We’ve been through this process in some ways before, but never to the extent of the process we ended up going through for this. “I’m more into oils, and that’s actually why it took so long to develop the fragrance. We didn’t want to just do another perfume. We wanted it to be able to sit on your skin like an oil, and to wear like an oil and to have that intimacy of how it becomes a part of you.” Sounds seductive! The twins have reportedly been working on the fragrances for over two years, so we have every faith that the finished products will smell gorgeous. If only they were released a month earlier… it would sure make Christmas shopping easier! [Coco Perez]

Kim Kardashian poses for her fifth fragrance, Pure Honey

Looks like Kim Kardashian is slowly but surely easing herself back into her work after giving birth to North West a few months ago. The latest KK project we have to be excited about (before all three of the K sisters head to Blighty for their Kardashian x Lipsy collection – words cannot describe how excited we are) is her fifth fragrance which goes by the name of Pure Honey.  “I wanted Pure Honey to be both light and sweet but also powerfully seductive,” she said. “As women we all have these dual natures. We can be girly and playful but also tempting and captivating at the same time. Combining the two elements was the perfect way to capture our full femininity. I created it to be delectable and crave-able, like all beautiful women are.” Sounds delicious! Even though her ad campaign is a tad out of date as it features Kim as a brunette instead of with her newly lightened locks, we think she looks absolutely gorgeous. A great promotional tool – we predict it’ll fly off the shelves! [Daily Mail]

Megan Fox smoulders for Avon’s Instinct fragrance ad

We thought we’d be seeing a lot less of Megan Fox now that she is pregnant with her second baby, but that’s not quite the case. The stunning 27-year-old actress has been snapped up by Avon to be the face of its latest Instinct fragrance ad campaign, and she’s just as gorgeous and seductive as ever . Way to go Avon; what do you think of the smouldering pics? “When we developed Avon Instinct, we were looking for someone who could portray the essence of a wildly alluring fragrance,” Laura Clarke, an Avon spokesperson said. “No-one evokes magnetic attraction better than Megan – men and women alike see her as a bold, captivating beauty. She’s the perfect face for a scent that’s intensely alluring.” Definitely no arguments there as far as Megan’s beauty and allure is concerned. The new fragrance is slated to launch mid-September so keep your eyes peeled for it amongst all the Fashion Month madness. [Marie Claire] [Images]

We think Cate is the epitome of fresh, soft, effortless, feminine glamour, which fits in with the nature of the fragrance rather perfectly. Cate Blanchett oozes class and sophistication, and we couldn’t have wished for a better debut ad campaign image. The scent itself reportedly has notes of cassis, freesia, may rose, vanilla, patchouli, woody notes, and ambroxan and is available to buy in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles. Cate has definitely done her job properly as we can’t wait to spritz some on ourselves!

I’ve had wonderful experiences with both Bobbi Brown and Alterna, and it’s nice to be a part of companies that have such integrity. Watch David Beckham strip off for Classic fragrance ad campaign video

Here’s a Friday treat for gals and gays across the nation. Nay, world! And it comes courtesy of Mr David Beckham, his perfectly toned torso, and a steamy fragrance ad campaign from the guys at Coty. Nice work everyone! A very dapper looking David Beckham is staring seductively into the camera as he promotes his brand new Coty fragrance, Classic. And if the steamy pic above and the weather outside combined aren’t enough to get you all hot and bothered this morning, then the video below sure will. The ad campaign vid features Victoria Beckham’s handsome hubby walking into the Spencer Hart store on Brook Street in London, undressing (that bit’s important!), and getting into a smart suit with the help of a tailor. Not much else needs to be said really, so we’ll shut up and let you crack on with watching it. Happy Friday one and all! http://youtu.be/AtW30jN2Vq8

Alexander McQueen signs fragrance deal with P&G

After what feels like forever (or nearly 10 years, if you want the numbers) Alexander McQueen is finally releasing another fragrance. Squeal! The fashion House has inked a deal with Procter and Gamble (P&G – also responsible for Dolce and Gabbana and Hugo Boss fragrances, among others) and will begin working on both male and female fragrances “immediately”. Well, that’s one way of making up for lost time! “Creating a fragrance feels like a natural progression as it enhances the world of Alexander McQueen,” creative director Sarah Burton said. “I’m very excited by this opportunity to collaborate with P&G Prestige, to work together to create a scent that captures the unique sensibility of the house.” Words cannot express how excited we are. Both of the previous McQueen perfumes, Kingdom (which launched in 2003) and My Queen (which followed in 2005) were discontinued in 2008, so it’s about time we had a new perfume to represent the brand. There are no more details currently available, and we still don’t have an estimated launch date, but we will keep you posted. It can’t come soon enough! Who do we think will be the face of it? Answers on a postcard! [Marie Claire]

5 of the best summer fragrances

There are so many fragrances on the market these days that we know it’s pretty easy to be overwhelmed with choice. Don’t snap up any old perfume though just because it has a fancy name or sexy celeb ambassador. And we wouldn’t recommend getting your best friend’s favourite perfume just because you have the same taste in shoes and handbags. A perfume is a very personal thing, and believe it or not, can smell different on each and every person. Hence why it’s important to take your scent selection seriously. Winter scents are very different to summer ones, which is why you’ll see the majority of brands mixing things up for when the sun comes out to play. Often they’re lighter and less over-powering, which is exactly what you need in hot temperatures. Here are five of our favourite sizzling summer scents: 1. Escada Cherry in the Air – Are cherries not one of the instantly recognisable smells of the summer? This scent is a fruity treat inspired by French landscapes. Ooo la la! 2. Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine – Sensuous, fruity, and tropical. This scent is sure to leave a lasting impression. 3. Balenciaga Florabotanica – If it’s light enough for Kristen Stewart (she who famously said she didn’t wear perfume before she posed for this one!) then you know it’ll be light enough for the summer season! 4. Roberto Cavalli Acqua – Akin to RC’s ready-to-wear, this fragrance commands attention! It’s light enough for the summer but bold enough to make a statement. 5. Burberry Summer – You can never go wrong with a truly British fragrance, and Burberry’s summer offering is no exception. Just as unique as every other scent from the British brand, with a fresh summery twist! And as if that’s not enough update your […]

Olivia Wilde is the blushing bride for Avon’s Amour fragrance

We know what you’re thinking: Olivia Wilde and her Saturday Night Live fiancé Jason Sudeikis did a fine job of keeping their wedding ceremony hush hush until the big day was over… however, that’s not what’s going on in this pic, oh no. Olivia Wilde is just getting some practice in while promoting Avon’s brand new limited edition fragrance Amour, from the Today, Tomorrow, Always collection  – and why shouldn’t she? If Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton can wear more than one wedding dress… Still, at least Jase has a little sneak preview of his wife-to-be in her wedding finery. We’re not sure who designed the dress in the advert though, but we do know that Olivia will be floating down the aisle in a bespoke Monique Lhuillier creation when the big day comes… she said so herself during an ABC interview! Avon’s Amour fragrance retails for £14, and is available to buy right now! [Marie Claire]

Rooney Mara for Calvin Klein’s new Downtown fragrance

Calvin Klein has tapped none other than Rooney Mara to be the face of its brand new fragrance, Downtown. Ms Mara was shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino for the ad campaign image above, and also features in a TV commercial which was directed by David Fincher (more on that later!). “I am very excited to be included in the group of amazing women that have been featured in the iconic advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein fragrances,” Rooney said. “It’s an honour to be part of a brand with such a legacy of breakthrough advertising. The Downtown fragrance holds true to the chic, confident and simple feeling of the Calvin brand. “The effortless and timeless appeal of the Calvin Klein Collection and the Downtown scent made this a natural partnership.” We can’t wait to smell it for ourselves – apparently it’s a bit of a floral, woody scent, and is aimed at 25 to 35 year old women. And we have to say that the bottle is looking pretty special too! [WWD]

Cate Blanchett becomes $10 million face of Giorgio Armani fragrances

Giorgio Armani definitely knows a thing or two about signing big-name stars, so it comes as no surprise to learn that Cate Blanchett is the latest face to ink a lucrative deal with the Italian brand. We regularly see Cate step out onto the red carpet clad in the hottest Armani dress (the red one in the pic above – which she wore to the Armani Prive Couture autumn/winter 2012 show – is a particular favourite), so her new job doesn’t really surprise us. Especially since the main man himself said that she  “epitomises the woman” for whom he designs. Now that’s a compliment and a half! Stay tuned for more info as and when we get it! [NY Post]

Cara Delevingne poses pretty for Burberry Tender fragrance

Move over Rosie Huntington Whiteley, there’s a new Burberry fragrance girl on the scene – and her name is Cara Delevingne! Yep, Queen Cara – whose name and face you can’t go more than a few seconds without seeing these days – has landed herself yet an other ad campaign, this time for the brand spanking new Burberry Tender fragrance. Rosie fans shouldn’t be too disheartened though, as she is still the face – and flawless bod – of the Burberry Body perfume. See – there’s plenty of the luxury British brand to go around! “Burberry Body was always about creating something that captures all the different characteristics of the Burberry girl,” said Burbs CEO Christopher Bailey. “With Body Tender, we wanted to explore and bring out the softer, more playful sides of her – capturing this light femininity in the scent as well as the campaign. “Cara’s natural beauty and vibrant energy lit up alongside London’s magnificent architecture.” No arguments there! As far as the smell is concerned, we’re lead to believe it’s pretty similar to Burberry Body, with the added hint of lemon. Mmm, fruity! We can’t wait to get a whiff!

Azzedine Alaïa to launch first ever fragrance

In a world where everyone from the biggest fashion designers to the newest Z-listers on the scene have a perfume out, it tends to surprise us when we stumble upon someone who doesn’t have their own fragrance yet. Azzedine Alaïa, one of fashion’s rebels who pretty much does what he wants when he wants, has managed to steer clear of the perfume biz – but that’s all about to change! He has reportedly signed a deal with Beauté Prestige International (BPI), the guys behind perfumes for Jean Paul Gaultier, Narciso Rodriguez and Issey Miyake to name just a few. “Beauté Prestige International corresponds perfectly to the spirit of the Alaïa house,” the designer told WWD. “I am delighted to work with them in launching this new project. I have total confidence in Beauté Prestige International to accompany me in creating a perfume that interprets my work and my world. Apparently the license covers cosmetics as well as fragrance, so we could be looking at a full-on expansion here. We’ll keep you posted with deets as and when we get them. Are you excited? This could potentially be our first chance to own some Alaïa, so we’re positively thrilled!

Marni launches first ever fragrance

Our prayers have finally been answered – Italian fashion House Marni is launching its first ever fragrance! And according to WWD, it doesn’t look like our nostrils have long to wait to get acquainted with the smell either, as the perfume is due to launch in February next year. If the scent smells half as good as the cute, chic polka dot bottle looks, we think we’re going to be in for a real treat. “It’s a perfume that’s quite individual, that doesn’t evoke anything in particular,” said Marni creative director Consuelo Castiglioni. “It’s for a woman who dresses herself, who doesn’t follow trends but is sophisticated and also maybe a little eccentric.” We think Raquel Zimmermann was the perfect face for the Nick Knight lensed ad campaign too. Good things come to those who wait and we reckon this perfume – with its reported “blend of spicy and woody notes” – will be worth it. Roll on 2013!

Carine Roitfeld to launch her own fragrance?

From one fragrance story to another this morning… fashion’s busiest woman (we think Karl Lagerfeld currently holds the ‘fashion’s busiest man’ crown!) rumour has it that Carine Roitfeld might be releasing her very own perfume! So just to confirm, since leaving her post as editor-in-chief of French Vogue at the end of 2010, Carine will have launched her own CR Fashion Book, collaborated on a make-up range with MAC and dressed the Barneys windows among other things… not to mention taking on a brand new job as Global Fashion Director of Harper’s Bazaar. Phew – just making sure we got all that in there! Details are few and far between at the moment; we don’t know who Carine will be creating the fragrance with just yet, but we will of course keep you posted. Watch Kristen Stewart’s live webchat about her Balenciaga Florabotanica fragrance

So, Kristen Stewart took part in a live webchat about the Balenciaga Florabotanica perfume she’s the face of yesterday… and we have the video right here in all its glory! How good are we? Pats on backs all round! We know that K-Stew has been coming out of her shell on the red carpet a lot recently, but we can’t help but feel she was back to her semi-awkward and shy self for the webchat – especially during some of the more ambiguous questions that were submitted by fans! Credit where credit is due though, because we would probably find it hard to talk about a fragrance for an entire 30 minutes so well done Kristen for not running out of things to say! She even makes a joke out of it at the end of the video saying “I’m sorry that we couldn’t fill a whole half an hour.” Aww! Oh and we love how evident her admiration of Balenciaga’s creative director Nicholas Ghesquière is – we hope they work together again because we think this has been a very successful partnership!

Watch Lady Gaga’s haunting commercial for her Fame fragrance

Marchesa launches debut fragrance ‘Parfume d’Extase’

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are expanding their very successful Marchesa line even further by branching out into the world of fragrances! However, if you like your sweet stuff, the ‘Marchesa Parfume d’Extase’ scent probably won’t be for you as the girls wanted to steer clear of “sickly” smells. “We didn’t want anything too sweet,” Keren told WWD. “Georgina and I don’t like perfumes that can smell sort of sickly, so that was very important when we were going through the process.” Don’t rule out investing in a bottle just yet though! The scent was made with Annie Buzantian and has top notes of iris, freesia and young violet leaves and night-blooming jasmine in the middle, which we have to say sounds rather heavenly. And how gorgeous is that bottle? That will definitely pretty up even the ugliest of dressing tables! Patrick Demarchelier has apparently already shot the campaign, but no one’s spilled the beans on who the face of the perfume is yet. We’re itching to find out who Marchesa gave the honour to; we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more, promise! [Sassi Sam]

Crystal Renn stuns for Reem Acra’s new fragrance ad

Yet another stunning ad campaign image for you guys today, this time courtesy of Lebanese designer Reem Acra, who has enlisted the help of the gorgeous Crystal Renn to promote the brand new fragrance. Crystal was shot by Tom Munro, and is wearing an adapted (read: bolder, sexier and more daring) version of a look from the Resort 2013 collection. (It really reminds us of the one Kristen Stewart stepped out in at the Cosmopolis premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year… would you be able to rock such a plunging front?) The former plus-size model’s porcelain skin, raven hair and ruby lips are contrasted against the background perfectly – she really is doing a cracking job as the face of the fragrance. It’s slated to hit stores in October, so not long to wait to get your hands on it! [Fashion Foie Gras]

Leighton Meester for Vera Wang’s new Lovestruck Floral Rush fragrance

Last week it was all about Blake Lively for Gucci, but now it’s her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester’s turn to shine on a fragrance ad campaign. After all, Blair Waldorf wouldn’t have it any other way! Leighton is posing pretty for Carter Smith, as she promotes Vera Wang’s new ‘Lovestruck Floral Rush’ scent – a follow-up to the popular ‘Lovestruck’ perfume that she is also the face of! Top notes of this fragrance include champagne, pink pepper and apricot blossom, as well as some pink passion flower, marigold and white freesia in the middle. Sounds pretty scrumptious, but we’ll let you be the judge of that when it comes out later this month. And just like the original Lovestruck fragrance, it continues with the modern day Romeo and Juliet theme… can’t go wrong with a good old-fashioned love story with a contemporary twist! [Sassi Sam]

Lady Gaga releases another advert for her Fame fragrance

Looks like Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters are in for a treat this morning, as the singer has released yet another ad campaign image for her highly anticipated debut fragrance ‘Fame’. According to her Facebook page, the second instalment was shot by Steven Klein and styled by Brandon Maxwell. And although there isn’t an exposed nipple in sight, Gaga has stayed true to her provocative self by posing in an all-leather catsuit with quite an, er, interesting piece of headgear too. Only Mother Monster! It actually makes sense to have more than one image for the ad campaign, seeing as the first one probably won’t get to see the light of day. Let’s face it, how many stores and billboards etc are going to be OK with lots of teeny tiny men crawling all over a naked Lady Gaga? Exactly! Do you like this version too?

Nicole Richie’s first fragrance ad is here!

Last month we showed you the stunning bottle of Nicole Richie’s debut fragrance, but today it’s time to look at the first ad campaign – which we must say is just as if not more gorgeous than we expected. Wearing an exquisite backless pale purple dress, Nicole is striking a mesmerising yet slightly provocative pose as she looks over her beautifully bronzed shoulder with her big, brown darkly lined eyes. She is sporting a full head of “bangs” as our Stateside readers would say, the honey/golden hued tones of which works really well with the background and overall ‘art decor’ vibe of the ad. The campaign and bottle are both a reflection of Nicole’s personal style, so we’re glad she stayed true to herself for the project. Don’t forget, you can get your paws on Nicole Richie’s fragrance this September. Nearly there! [Sassi Sam]

Pics of Lady Gaga’s debut fragrance ‘Fame’ leaked online

Some bittersweet news for Lady Gaga fans this morning – or Little Monsters as you’re most commonly known. Images of Lady Gaga’s debut fragrance ‘Fame’ have leaked online (yay!) although poor Mother Monster wasn’t too happy about it (boo!). “Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked,” she tweeted. “Oh you fashion editors I could just crinkle my hands at you!” Knowing the damage, so to speak, was already done, she decided to indulge her fans (yes all 25 million of them) and share a clearer picture of the perfume packaging. Aww, thanks LG! So, we now know the name and what it looks like, but what about the all-important smell? We’ve been hearing rumours for well over a year now, and while it was initially thought that it would smell like “blood and semen”, Lady Gaga herself stated that it would “smell like an expensive hooker”. Such a way with words! If her description wasn’t enough for you though, the back of the packaging states the following: “Tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverised apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.” Initial thoughts? Justin Bieber’s Someday named WWD’s fragrance of the year

Celebrity fragrances have never been bigger, and 2011 has presented us with a multitude of fab-smelling scents courtesy of some very famous faces. Akin to everything else he puts his name to, Justin Bieber’s debut women’s fragrance ‘Someday’ understandably was a massive hit, although we never anticipated this level of success. The scent is so popular and has sold so widely across the world that it has been named Women’s Wear Daily’s fragrance of the year – an achievement if ever there was one.
