OK, here’s a red carpet look we’re so baffled by, that an eerie silence took over HQ when we laid eyes on it. Marion Cotillard, faithfully upholding her Dior duties, sported the oddest Christian Dior dress from the fall 2013 couture collection at the Waltz with Monica photo call in Morocco, earlier this week. The usually impeccable Marion wore a floor-length striped orange-and-blue gown, with a blue asymmetrical overlay. Going accessory-free, Marion opted for black pointed pumps, and a slick of black polish on her nails. Make-up was simple, with kohl-lined eyes; and swept back hair with glossy bangs rounded off her red carpet appearance. Sadly, this look does absolutely nothing for Marion, and its unflattering silhouette only adds to our worst dressed woes. The high neckline isn’t at all flattering, and we’re still wondering how this look could possibly constitute couture…! What do you think of Marion’s look? We get that couture seeks to push design boundaries, but is this look just overdoing it a bit? Share your thoughts below. [Image]

Marion Cotillard is Worst Dressed of the Week in Christian Dior
We’re not fans of dismissing a to-die-for Dior look, but Marion Cotillard gave us good reason to temporarily detour from our devout appreciation of the luxury fashion house. Slipping into a cocoon back dazzler of a dress – fresh off the spring/summer 2014 runway – Marion appeared at ELLE’s 20th Annual Women in Hollywood bash, held in Los Angeles earlier this week, and on all counts of styling, we just weren’t impressed by this grey red carpet effort! Not only did the silhouette appear frumpy, but the look screamed “effortless styling” for all the wrong reasons. A sharp Dior dress, the kind we’re used to seeing Marion sporting, would’ve been just fine! And not only that, but we’re pretty convinced those Dior ankle-tie sandals are a camouflage tactic, because they do a great job of blending into the grey carpet beneath! Emulating much of the runway look, Marion went accessory free, and opted to wear her hair in a low, centre-parted bun – a hairdo that seemed more suited to a saintly Valentino look, than a standout dress like this one. Although you never sartorially disappoint, Mademoiselle Cotillard, this one’s definitely for the ‘ditch’ pile. What do you think of Marion’s look? [Image]
Read MoreReese Witherspoon, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and more for Elle US Women in Hollywood November
Elle magazine has got one heck of a treat for us this month, as the Elle US Women in Hollywood issue – which last year was fronted by Miss Sarah Jessica Parker – has once again come around. This year, the gorgeous girls featured on the numerous covers are, in no particular order of awesomeness: Reese Witherspoon, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Shailene Woodley, Naomie Harris, and Melissa McCarthy. They were all shot by Thomas Whiteside, apart from Penelope Cruz who was photographed by Nico. It’s tough choosing a favourite but we think Marion Cotillard is one of the frontrunners purely for the simplicity of the cover. What say you? Wearing a Dior bra top and wool shorts – and not much else, save for some David Yurman bracelets – Marion opens up about a number of different subjects, including the reason she wanted to become an actress… “When I was a kid, I started to have a lot of questions about human beings, and I was a troubled child because of all of these questions. I guess that’s why I became an actress,” she said. “Not only because my parents were actors and, yeah, it’s a beautiful thing to tell stories, but I think I became an actress because I wanted to explore this—to explore what a human being is.” Quite deep, no? You can read Marion’s the full interview, and the interviews from the rest of the cover stars, in the Elle US November issue which hits newsstands October 22nd!

With Cannes and amfAR Gala festivities in full swing this week, there, hasn’t been a shortage of breathtaking red carpet looks to ogle. But OD’ing on dresses has tired our eyes, leaving us in need of a fresh, easy look. So when Marion Cotillard, the face of Dior, attended the Dior Cruise show in Monaco, in a white trench coat from the fashion house’s pre-autumn/winter 2013-14 collection, we took a sigh of relief! The clean, minimal look she sported was a welcome detour from frocks and frill (all very beautiful, of course), and, although several Dior looks appeared this week, Marion’s outfit made us fall in love with the idea of the humble coat-as-a-dress option so expertly championed by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton! The cute collar and belt detail up the chic ante, whilst the neon toe-cap pumps ensure the white-out isn’t too clinical, adding a welcome splash of colour. Marion finished off her look with a sleek black clutch and neutral makeup, opting for a soft pink lip and a side-swept low-do – a no brainer for BDOTW! What do you make of Marion’s look? Would you opt for the coat-as-a-dress look? Image: Zimbio

Trust a Frenchie to pull off a Parisian fashion house’s epic design with effortlessness. Would you believe Marion Cotillard is ever so nonchalantly wearing none other than Christian Dior here?! Although the raggedly cut, Rooney Mara-esqe bob isn’t really doing it for us, we couldn’t take our eyes of her stunning rise-and-fall hemline dress. Marion attended the Tokyo premiere of her latest film, Rust and Bone in a strapless frock festooned with textured florals, from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Although the overall look is very, very pared down, we think it works perfectly. Finishing off Marion’s red carpet style were asymmetrical strap Dior pumps (probably an ode to the uneven hemline) and a slick of gloss on the lips. We think it’s pretty refreshing to witness an accessory-free celebrity for once, allowing more focus to fall on the beautiful dress. What do you make of Marion’s minimal look? [Image: Zimbio]

We can expect to see the ads make their debut in Numéro France on Monday, and in the Vanity Fair US May issue which hits newsstands on April 9th. And keep a beady eye on diormag.com, as some cheeky behind-the-scenes images will be released in due course. What do you think of Marion’s latest Lady Dior stint? Best one yet? [WWD]

Attending the 2013 Cesar Film Awards in a breathtaking spring 2013 Christian Dior Couture gown was the stunning actress, Marion Cotillard. Opting for Dior once again (the last time was that zingy, directional number at the 2013 BAFTA Awards), this time Marion took a more classic, Forties pin-up route with the styling. The strapless pale pink gown was adorned with black stripes, worn with embellished pumps and classic Forties up-do. Chopard jewels completed her splendid look. Considering the awards ceremony was held in Paris, there was no excuse to not go for the classic French fashion house and, being the face of Lady Dior, only Dior would do on the night. We wouldn’t expect anything less from this beautiful French actress.

Promoting her latest film, Rust and Bone at the AFI Fest in Hollywood, French beauty Marion Cotillard was papped doing the rounds wearing none other than her go-to name for red carpet dressing, Christian Dior. We’ve loved Marion in Dior before, and can safely say we love her this time, too. Opting for a cream and black halter style dress with a centre slit, and a shorter underskirt, Marion’s look, although sticking safely to the confines of some black, made for a refreshing change from a full length gown, and we love the effortless-yet-high-impact styling. Marion completed her look with Dior criss-cross sandals, and opted for a chic up do with smoky eyes and a nude lip. We love the hands-in-pockets stance, too! With such a graphic dress in terms of cut and opposing colours, Marion’s suitably nonchalant styling heightens the appeal of this look. She’s got that effortless French thing down to a tee, and bags our vote for Best Dressed, hands down. Was Marion your Best Dressed this week?
Read MoreMarion Cotillard dramatic in Dior for Harper’s Bazaar UK December
Another December fashion glossy cover coming your way this morning, and this time it’s courtesy of the ever-gorgeous Marion Cotillard. The Oscar-winning French actress – whose new Lady Dior ad campaign was released earlier this week by the way – is looking as chic and sophisticated as ever on the front cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK in a sexy Dior Haute Couture number. No surprises there! The sleek hair and dark eyes look so seductive and striking against the simple background, proving that Marion can pull off both understated and dramatic looks with ease. Not even a hint of jealousy there, we promise! Marion isn’t the only reason to get the December copy though, as it also happens to be the Women of the Year issue which features the likes of Stella McCartney, Jessica Ennis, Vivienne Westwood and even our very own Queen! Gonna be a good’un!

The gorgeous Marion Cotillard is back in Lady Dior’s latest campaign, looking just as poised, chic and elegant as ever. The French Oscar-winning actress was shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, and is wearing a fine ensemble from the Christian Dior Resort collection. We’re not gonna lie, we’ve never been able to do beach chic at the best of times; there’s something about sand and wind that always plays havoc with our outfits. So, now that we’ve seen how perfect someone can actually look on a beach, the bar has been raised even higher, making us believe we have no hope at all. We might be willing to give it a good go though if we decide to go in search of some winter sun. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime let’s all bask in the gorgeousness that is Marion Cotillard and the fine, striking piece of Lady Dior arm candy!
Read MoreMarion Cotillard debuts Dior’s new collection on the red carpet
There’s a reason why Marion Cotillard continues to be given first dibs on Dior… and the picture above is it! The actress and face of Dior gave Raf Simons’ spring/summer 2013 ready-to-wear collection its red carpet debut at the London premiere of Rust and Bone. So simple, yet so effective, Marion looked effortlessly smouldering in one of the most chic fuss-free items from the new collection. Her seductive smoky eyes juxtaposed with the feminine pink lippie and quirky asymmetrical monochrome shoes added to the overall picture of perfection. Plus, we love her new slightly darker hair colour, as it contrasts with her pale skin beautifully. Take note, TOWIE girls! We hope more celebs will step out in Raf Simons’ new collection soon so we can see how the rest of the looks translate from runway to red carpet, but Marion Cotillard couldn’t have given it a better introduction!

It’s exciting enough to learn that Time has just released the Fall 2012 issue of its biannual Time Style & Design, but imagine our delight when we discovered that Marion Cotillard was on the cover… and both she and Gwen Stefani were among the interviewees! Marion Cotillard has had her fair share of mag covers recently (as has Gwen!), and this is another one for her to be proud of, don’t you think? As Marion was the first celeb to wear new-season Dior Couture on the red carpet, it’s safe to say that she is regarded as quite a big fashion influence, so it was inevitable that she’d be asked to dish the dirt on her sartorial choices past and present. “I love men’s hats, because my father wears them,” Marion said. I wore a lot of my father’s clothes as a kid, even though most of the time it was a disaster.” And let’s not forget music and style goddess Gwen Stefani, who spoke out about songwriting and clothes designing. “I’m more experienced with songwriting,” she said when asked which was easier. “Design is more of a fun hobby. There’s not as much pressure. It’s not emotional. It’s so fun and so indulgent. It’s all about what I want and what I can make.” We can’t wait to get stuck into those interviews! Will you be getting the new Time Style & Design?

It was the European premiere of the new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises last night, but it wasn’t the only premiere of the evening… This was the first time Raf Simons’ Christian Dior Haute Couture collection was seen off the runway – and on none other than the always impeccably dressed face of Miss Dior, Marion Cotillard. (We’re crossing our fingers that we could see the other Miss Dior beauty Mila Kunis in a piece from the new collection too!) Marion wore a light orange bustier top tucked into a high waisted black and white houndstooth skirt, which was finished off with a waist cinching black skinny belt and an assortment of red accessories in the form of shoes, a clutch, and of course, lipstick! We didn’t think those colours would have worked that well together, but Marion has definitely proved us wrong! The vintage Hollywood hairstyle finished off the chic and classy look perfectly. Raf Simons couldn’t have chosen a better lady to debut his work!

Looks like those rumours we heard back in June about Marion Cotillard fronting American Vogue’s August issue were true, because here she is right before our very eyes. Marion is looking fresh faced, natural, not hugely air-brushed and generally quite flawless; we like the simple pose too – nothing too forced or overly dramatic, proving that you don’t need tricks and gimmicks when you’re dealing with a true Hollywood pro. This isn’t the only mag that the Christian Dior beauty and Oscar-winning actress is covering this month, as she is also posing pretty on the Marie Claire UK issue. Two very different shoots almost worlds apart… but which one do you prefer? There’s no denying that she looks phenomenal in both, but we’d be interested to hear your thoughts… [poll id=”356″]

With every great fashion week – be it autumn/winter, spring/summer or the highly anticipated Haute Couture – comes a great front row. And the Christian Dior FROW was full to the brim with ultra-stylish A-listers (we wouldn’t expect anything less from one of the biggest French fashion Houses) including Miss Emma Watson, who pretty much stole the show for us! The former Harry Potter actress blew us away with her appearance on the front row, choosing to wear a wow-factor silk dress – from Dior, natch – which came with a rather interesting expanding silhouette. We think it would look quite unforgiving on a lot of other people – celebs and us regular folk – but Emma totally makes it work for her. We wouldn’t question it if someone told us the dress was made especially for her. The rest of the look was utter perfection too; Emma’s hair was brushed across her shoulders very naturally, and her make up was flawless, as expected. Why Emma Watson isn’t a Christian Dior ambassadress a’ la Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard is beyond us. We’re thinking of starting a petition to rectify this soon; who’s with us?

So we told you who the big award winners were earlier this morning, but now it’s time to take a look at who the sartorial winners were – the ones who stole the show and our hearts with their outfit choices! As Rihanna was collecting a Style Icon gong, it seemed only right that she make an iconic statement on the red carpet – and that’s exactly what she did in a glittering bespoke Adam Selman ensemble with 216,000 Swarovski crystals. Precise! Also impressing on the CFDA red carpet were Blake Lively (no surprises there, especially following her Cannes Film Festival style triumphs), supermodel extraordinaire Heidi Klum, Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, and a gorgeous Olivia Wilde who still has that pregnant glow despite giving birth a few months ago. Motherhood clearly agrees with her! Take a look at the rest of our best-dressed celebs below, and let us know who gets your ultimate vote in the comments below or on Twitter. All the big names in fashion, film, and music gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night, for the highly anticipated Met Gala! This year, the museum was honouring Charles James, and the dress-code was a very simple (albeit slightly “boring” according to Marc Jacobs) “white tie and decorations”. Anyone familiar with the work of Charles James would know that elegant eveningwear was his thing, so they wouldn’t have gone wrong by donning the finest couture pieces with some elegant jewels. There were many ladies who absolutely nailed their looks, while some probably should have stayed home. Stella McCartney had a big moment on the red carpet, dressing the likes of Rihanna and Reese Witherspoon so flawlesslessly for the event, in two very different but equally stunning dresses. Rihanna went for her signature sexy look, while Reese was a vintage glamour goddess. Selena Gomez also wowed on the red carpet for us, looking very mature for just 21 years old in a bold deep purple Diane von Furstenberg dress. We also love how Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were reunited at the Met Gala – they both looked amazing in their respective Gucci Premiere and Emilio Pucci dresses. Not all of the ladies went for full-length or ballgown dresses (like Hayden Panettiere who looked like a Princess!) though – Solange Knowles and Lena Dunham were just two of the stars who went for something a little bit shorter. The impact definitely wasn’t lost though. Here are our best dressed celebs from last night’s Met Gala. Let us know who gets your vote in the comments below. Ooo la la, what have we here, then? Vanity Fair is expanding, and has just launched its first ever Vanity Fair France issue. And who better to help the French mag shift loads of copies than, er, American actress Scarlett Johansson? We know what you’re thinking; why didn’t the magazine use a classic French icon for the cover to celebrate? It’s not like there’s a shortage of them – Marion Cotillard or Audrey Tautou spring to mind as excellent debut magazine cover stars. However, Scarlett Johansson definitely has mag pulling power so we totally get why she was favoured over a more traditional famous French face. Plus the “American in Paris” phrase never really gets old, does it? ScarJo was shot by Mark Seliger and is rocking a monochrome ensemble on the front cover, complete with a seriously fierce gold choker and a dangerous stare! We have every faith the mag’s debut French issue will be a success!

Harrods will be paying tribute to Christian Dior this spring, by dedicating the Brompton Road store’s floors and windows to the iconic French brand. The store windows will get a classic grey and white Dior make-over, and the fourth floor will turn into the “ultimate Dior experience.” “We are thrilled to be partnering with Dior, one of our most successful global luxury brands on such an exciting venture,” said Marigay McKee, a spokesperson for Harrods. “Highlights of this exclusive initiative include a unique exhibition that takes you on a fascinating journey, unveiling intricate details of Dior’s rich heritage.” The fourth floor will be reconstructed to resemble the famous 30 Avenue Montaigne Dior headquarters in Paris, with an abundance of exciting displays available to witness. You can check the new Miss Dior handbag range out, dine in the Café Dior pop up restaurant, and see sketches and mannequins of iconic designs, among other things. The ‘Stars in Dior’ section sounds particularly appealing to us, as it features the actual dresses worn by some of our favourite celebs from the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard and Emma Watson among others. You can catch the Harrods/Dior take-over from March 16th to April 14th, so make sure you pencil it in your diaries!
Read MoreThe BAFTAs 2013: The best dressed!
The British weather didn’t make the best impression on the out-of-towners, but they certainly made an impact with us as far as their red carpet choices were concerned. Yes, the stars who flew in from the good ol’ US of A braved the rain, sleet, snow and overall chill and stunned the crowds at the 2013 BAFTAs last night, but that doesn’t mean our own homegrown talent took a back seat either. On the contrary, the Brit hotties made a huge impression on the red carpet, proving that the stars from both sides of the pond have got it right in those all-important style stakes. Although black and blue hues more or less dominated the carpet, there were a few exceptions to the rule. Marion Cotillard for example went for the brightest shade she could find, as she stepped out in a rockin’ yellow dress from Raf Simons’ Dior collection. Hawk-eyed fashionistas may remember that Jennifer Lawrence wore the dark blue version of the dress to the Screen Actors Guild Awards a few weeks ago. One of our fave looks came courtesy of Sarah Jessica Parker – when we caught wind of the fact that she would be attending we predicted something loud, proud and totally Carrie Bradshaw-esque. However, we got sleek, understated, and undisputedly sexy as she turned heads in a stunning black jumpsuit. Well played, SJP – you’re a fashion icon for a reason! Another Sunday night was spent sitting in front of the television with a glass of fizz passing sartorial judgement on the famous faces of Tinsel Town, as the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in LA. We all remember how Rosie Huntington Whiteley channelled Jessica Rabbit at the Transformers 3 premiere, but we think Jessica Chastain was after her crown as she oozed glamour and sexiness in her figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress. Snow may very well have been forecast here in the UK, but it was a totally different story across the pond, as the stars of Tinsel Town were well and truly scorching for the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. Next to the Oscars, this really is our favourite of the awards ceremonies, as it gives the stars from some of the best TV shows and films of the moment the chance to step out onto the red carpet and celebrate their greatness. Red was one of the key colours of the evening, with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Zooey Deschanel and Claire Danes stepping out in varying hues of the shade. Despite colour being very prominent, we also had some cracking black gowns courtesy of Kate Hudson, Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara, Adele, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Hyland among others. Paler dresses came from the likes of Lea Michele, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hayden Panettiere, Megan Fox and Jessica Chastain. We have so many looks from the 18th Annual Critics Choice Awards to get through this afternoon we’d better crack on and get straight down to business. Basically this year’s CCA’s were something rather spectacular, with the red carpet being dominated by goddesses in predominantly floor-length fabulous frocks. There were a few exceptions of course – Marion Cotillard for example wore a sensational Zuhair Murad tea dress which earned her a top spot on our best-dressed list. Fashion is all about taking risks and standing out from the crowd after all! Other ladies who really impressed us with their gowns include Anne Hathaway in golden Oscar de la Renta, her Les Miserables co-star Amanda Seyfried in custom Marios Schwab and her former Devil Wears Prada costar Emily Blunt in sensational Miu Miu. Jennifer Lawrence pulled out another showstopper by way of her black Prabal Gurung dress, and Jaime King turned a multitude of heads by looking flawless in a sexy Jason Wu creation. Diane Kruger always gets her hands on Chanel before anyone else, and Marion Cotillard usually gets first dibs on Dior, and it looks like Kristen Stewart is one of the first gals to step out in a dress from the brand new Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2013 collection! The actress was rocking the black and white box print dress as she attended a photocall for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Japan sans her on again-off again boyfriend and costar Robert Pattinson. This dress was definitely one of those “look what you’re missing R-Pattz” pieces, which we think she accessorised well with Brian Atwood booties, lightly tousled wavy hair and vamp-inspired black eye make-up. Not long to go until the big premieres, so get your predictions in for what K-Stew and the rest of the Twilight ladies will be wearing on the red carpet. We predict more LV, as well as some Marios Schwab and Balenciaga for Kristen, while we bet Ashley Greene will rock a few bespoke Donna Karan dresses. Watch this space!

Yesterday Marion Cotillard gave Dior’s latest ready-to-wear collection its red carpet debut, and now it looks like Sarah Jessica Parker has done the same for Calvin Klein. SJP attended Elle‘s Women in Hollywood Celebration in Beverly Hills last night, wearing a pale grey dress hot off the spring/summer 2013 runway. The event was attended by a bevy of gorgeous women from the likes of Emma Stone to Lea Michele (they looked phenomenal too, may we add) but there’s something about the sheer simplicity of Sarah’s outfit that has us hooked. The former Carrie Bradshaw could have over-accessorised with chunky Anna Dello Russo approved jewellery or a contrasting piece of arm candy, but we’re glad she let the dress and her simple, sleek hairstyle do all the talking. One of our favourite Sarah Jessica Parker looks of the year, we think!
Read MoreJennifer Lawrence is the new face of Miss Dior
It’s officially been confirmed that Hunger Games actress and current British Vogue cover girl Jennifer Lawrence is the brand new face of Miss Dior. The 22-year-old beauty will therefore follow in the footsteps of Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard in posing for the iconic brand. “Like the whole world I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence as a young action hero,” said new Dior creative director Raf Simons. “I was of course struck by her unbelievable on screen presence in these ‘larger than life’ movies, but I was equally impressed by her powerful portrayal of more emotional and complex characters. Her youth and her classic beauty but also the feminine strength and complexity that she can portray at such a young age are for me very unique and very appealing.” We had a small inkling that Jennifer would have something exciting lined up with the fashion House, as she sat pretty on the front row for the Couture show earlier this year. Her ads are slated to break in March next year! Excited? [WWD]

Raf Simons’ magic at the helm of Christian Dior Couture made its first outing thanks to Marion Cotillard, who donned a stunning ensemble from the designer’s debut Couture collection for the fashion house, for the London premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, last month. More recently, Jessica Biel followed suit and stunned in an ultra-feminine powder pink Dior Couture dress at the Total Recall LA premiere, earlier this week. But is was Rachel Weisz in a stunning, black strapless bustier Dior Couture Fall 2012 dress at the New York premiere for The Bourne Legacy earlier this week that had us picking up our dropped jaws from the table! Mrs Daniel Craig looked resplendent in a genius take on the perennially sexy Black Dress (although we’re going to call it the MBD or Mid Black Dress). Completing her look was a black Charlotte Olympia ‘Pandora Domino’ clutch, Christian Louboutin ‘Bow Bow’ sandals, an elegant up do and a seductively scarlet pout. We really can’t think of a more deserving (and painfully stylish) candidate for this week’s BDOTW!

We don’t know about you, but today we’re coveting some Parisian chic. Created by Moroccan-born designer Judith Milgrom in 2004, French label Maje is making a name for itself with its highly desirable, youthful yet sexy pieces. We absolutely love Maje’s autumn/winter collection: it’s got a distinctly Sixties feel to it with peter pan collars, cute knits and tiny body-con mini dresses. But the piece we’re really loving? This light grey sweater with a removable riveted collar. Chic and timeless, the detachable lambskin studded collar gives this knit a modern rock and roll edge. Plus, since it’s detachable, you can team the collar with other jumpers and tops too – tres bien! We’ll be wearing it with a mini skirt, ribbed wool tights and cute Mary Jane shoes, stood next to the Eiffel Tower, of course. Oh, and with Marion Cotillard and Vanessa Paradis as fans of the label, we know we’re in good company. Parfait! Maje Light grey sweater with removable riveted collar, £167, available at Stylebop.com.

Yep, that’s it right there. That is how to wear a suit. French actor Guillaume Canet shows us how it’s done as he attends the premier for the Woody Allen film ‘You’ll meet a tall dark stranger’ at Cannes this week. That is – how to wear a suit and look effortlessly stylish whilst doing so. We can’t decide whether the secret is in his nonchalant pose or the fact that he’s wearing top-to-toe Yves Saint Laurent in the form of a black tuxedo, white shirt, black tie and black lace-ups. We’ve got a sneaking suspicion that it’s probably both of these factors, coupled with an annoying yet admirable ‘je ne sais quoi’ that French men have when it comes to dressing. Oh and there’s one more rather dazzling addition that contributes to Guillaume’s effortless cool, and that’s in the form of the very beautiful Marion Cotillard. Guillaume’s girlfriend Marion looked stunning at the Chopard 150th anniversary party earlier in the week wearing a Lefranc Ferrant sequined jumpsuit. We’re looking forward to seeing their creative talents brought together as Marion stars in ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs’ later in the year – a film directed by the very stylish Guillaume.

Kate Moss become ballet star Kate Moss is set to be swapping her ballet pumps for…ballet pumps as it’s revealed that Ms Moss has signed a deal to star in a new ballet alongside one of the world’s greatest dancers , Sex and the City actor , Mikhail Baryshnikov. The pair will duet in a short film that will be shown as part of a fundraising event, and also at a private New York gallery. We imagine it will be a little different from her previous pole dancing performance. Christian Lacroix on the up After filing for bankruptcy last year we thought it could all be over for legendary label Christain Lacroix. But it seems that Lacroix himself will be cutting all ties with the company following its plans for the future. Nicolas Topiol, Lacroix’s CEO, announced that he’ll be teaming up with several other labels to launch four new product categories , though sadly, couture and ready-to-wear won’t be making a comeback. Moises de la Renta for Mango Design talent obviously runs in the family as Oscar de la Renta’s son, Moises , who is also a designer , will be launching an exclusive t-shirt collection for Mango this month. The twenty-five year old is said to fuse his father’s timeless aesthetic with his own youthful rock and roll edge , we look forward to seeing the results! Naomi won’t face charges Despite allegations that she attacked her driver last week it appears that Naomi won’t face charges after all. The chauffeur claimed the supermodel hit him from the back seat of the car after becoming annoyed, and then fled the vehicle when he alerted a traffic warden to call the police. But the authorities have since confirmed they won’t be pursuing Ms. Campbell any further as the driver […]

Forget the Oscars. Last night NY was awash with celebs who scrubbed up and donned their best outfits for the annual Met Costume Institute Gala. Hosted by Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss and Justin Timberlake, the purpose of the event was to honour “the model as a muse. With actresses and singers dominating campaigns and magazine covers, the supermodel is a dying breed. So what to do? Celebrate their existence with an exhibition and a ball. Top tables for the evening set guests back a Alaia snub, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Stephanie Seymour chose not to attend….a bit sad really as all three would have set the carpet on fire. But alas we do still have a lot of material to work with. So here goes.

Dolce and Gabbana are fashion geniuses, they are perhaps even style gods, but priests? Looks like there’s nothing the design duo can’t do. But if you’re wondering where this stylish congregation will be, or the fact that you didn’t know the Catholic church was into appointing fashion designers, then never fear, it’s all for a film. As with most things fact is often stranger than fiction. So they are not priests, but they are playing cameo roles as priests in a musical film. Honestly, it’s the truth….told you it was strange. In a new film called Nine, directed by Rob Marshall, Stefano and Domenico were caught on camera in Rome last week in all their holy inspired glory. The film, based on a Broadway musical is due for release in November. But D&G aren’t the only exciting stars in the film. Oh no, they join one of the best casts we’ve seen in a long time. Starring alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Sophia Loren. Now that’s a line up. Who’d have thought of a pair of designers sharing the screen with such stars, rather than dressing them?! [Source]

So we are now in full movie red carpet full swing. In the run up to the Oscars, the BAFTAs are the place to shine. And did they do it? Did the stars remind us why they are the people we want to be? In a word.. No. It wasn’t an evening of epic disasters, there was nothing so horrific it made me want to cry, well maybe there was one. But there was certainly nothing to capture the imagination. So much black, you wouldn’t have been blamed for thinking that they were all off to a very glamorous funeral. The Hit list Kate Winslet , love or hate her, her stylist certainly knows her stuff. Kate’s Zac Posen number may not have been a fabulous colour but the dress flatters and accentuates those curves. I am particularly loving the vampish neckline. Freida Pinto – Wearing a girly Oscar De La Renta gown, the Slumdog Millionaire star was the shining light in all that black. It fit perfectly, and the pink ruffles were wonderfully feminine. The statement necklace adds true glamour. Amy Adams , Flying the flag for sexy redheads everywhere, Amy Adams is continuing her status as a screen siren. The royal blue gown from RM by Roland Mouret, hugged her shape creating a perfect silhouette. I’m loving the cleverly draped pearls, although the earrings are a little unnecessary. Sharon Stone , In striking red Sharon Stone knows how to work the red carpet. The hair is a little finger in a plug socket, but we’ll forgive her because she really is working her John Galliano dress. Emma Watson – This is not a wow dress, but it is not worthy of a non-entity either. There is something really quite striking about this Temperley number. The embroidered neckline is […]

It is something of a style cliche to say that Paris is a site of style inspiration but a recent trip to the City of Lights has reminded me why it has this reputation in the first place. Whilst its inhabitants may not fill the streets with quite the same sartorial eccentricity of London or New York, there is a compelling allure to all of that understated nonchalance. Of course, it is my experience that you have to actually be French to pull it off…
