Why You Should Learn a Musical Instrument

Are you looking for a real challenge? A skill that combines multiple disciplines such as learning to read a new type of language, working on your brain-to-hand connection, improving your rhythm, and on top of it your social skills? Learning a musical instrument will be it. Guitar chords for beginners, for example, combines all of these skills and is worth taking a look at.  What are the Benefits of Learning to Play an Instrument? The benefits of learning an instrument are impressive. They range from building self-esteem and teaching perseverance, to relieving stress. There are some amazing reasons why you should learn an instrument.  Playing a Musical Instrument Improves Memory Many scientific studies and surveys have been made which prove that learning a musical instrument improves your memory. Astonishingly, it not only boosts your cognitive memory but also muscle memory as well. When you are learning to play a musical instrument, it requires you to use both parts of your brain, the right side, and the left side. Since the creative side and the logical side are equally stimulated when playing an instrument, your brain has to work harder. Consequently, your memory will improve. Scientists even use music training as a method of neuro-rehabilitation to help improve the function of the brain. Music makes stress-free Certainly, you have also experienced the strong effect music has on your emotions: it can make you sad or happy, melancholic or energetic, or even amplify the current emotion you have. No wonder, music can also calm you down. It has been proven that slow classical music can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, which in turn lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol. The effect being: complete and total relaxation of your mind and body. If just listening to music helps, imagine […]

Do’s and Don’ts Of Surviving A Music Festival

If you haven’t noticed, music festivals are on the upswing, with more and more music fans attending big festivals each year. Case in point: Despite headliners like Beck and Morrissey, the inaugural Coachella in 1999 played host to only 10,000 curious concert-goers, while more than 100,000 showed up last year (thanks in part to Beyoncé). But, at least since the days of Woodstock, there’s always been an unspoken code among serious festival-goers, and etiquette is a surprisingly big consideration on the fest circuit. While there’s a lot here to remember, always prioritize the biggest do: have fun! Here’s what else you need to know as you’re festin’ it up this summer. The Do’s Pace Yourself: Most music festival lineups are set up so that the big headliners play at the end of the day or in the evening, say between 6 and 10 p.m., with smaller acts beginning to hit their stages around noon or 1 p.m. That means that you could have as many as 10 hours to hang out on the festival grounds each day. Pace yourself if you want to see it all and be sure to take it extra slow if you plan to drink. Keep Track of Your Stuff: People lose track of their stuff constantly at these big events and getting things back can be difficult. Where possible, turn everything into an accessory. Examples: wear your vape on a chain (or, better yet, take one that’s made to be worn); put your sunglasses on a lanyard; clip your keys to your belt loop; get one of those thigh holsters for your phone. Get creative! Wear the Right Clothes: Nothing will harsh your mellow faster than a particularly annoying blister or a shirt that won’t dry, especially when you’re stuck with the same clothes and […]

It all went down last night at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards…

Well, one can never accuse Nicki Minaj of being boring right? Host of the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards as well as performer, the rapper treated fashion lovers everywhere to at least eight outfit changes which included a playful Golf inspired piece by Alexander Wang, a red to-die-for cocktail mini-dress and a sheer black evening gown. And while we weren’t really too keen on her white cut-out Cavalli number, credit where credit is due, we have to give Miss Minaj a high-five for this Saint Laurent sequinned dress which showed off her pins beautifully. Stunning. Highlight of the night? Yes, Nicki flew on to the stage in a 14ft ruffled dress. Yes, One Direction took home three awards. Yes, Ozzy Osbourne was rightly honoured as a global icon and yes, Alicia Keys did absolutely glow in a floor-length silver gown but nothing and we mean nothing could beat the legend that is “The Hoff” in a kilt.

The 2013 American Music Awards: The best dressed!

The annual American Music Awards took place in LA last night, and it’s pretty safe to say that the ladies – whether they worked in music or not – did their bit to make sure they stood out on the red carpet, on stage, and even in the audience. White was a big theme on the red carpet, with Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie opting to wear the shade – or lack thereof – as they arrived at the ceremony. While a newly-slimmed down Christina and perma-skinny Nicole went for dresses with cut-out detailing to show off their toned and flawless figures, Miley went for a chic tux instead. Didn’t expect that, did you? Elsewhere on the red carpet, the wow factor continued with a stunning Oscar de la Renta look from Katy Perry, a dazzling Dolce and Gabbana dress from Ariana Grande, and a Versace-clad Lady Gaga arriving on a white horse. We couldn’t make it up! See the rest of our red carpet hits below and let us know who your favourite is… Katy Perry in Oscar de la Renta Taylor Swift in Julien Macdonald Ariana Grande in Dolce and Gabbana Lady Gaga in Versace Jennifer Hudson in Christian Dior Naya Rivera in Michael Kors Christina Aguilera in Maria Lucia Hohan Zoe Saldana in Roland Mouret Miley Cyrus in Versus Versace Ciara in J Mendel Heidi Klum in Marchesa Nicole Richie in Emilio Pucci

Taylor Swift steals the Country Music Awards show in Elie Saab Couture

When we think of modern day country music, we think of Taylor Swift. And when we think of Taylor Swift, we can’t help but think of enviable, effortless, wow-worthy red carpet style. The 23-year-old country star didn’t disappoint us as she attended the Country Music Awards wearing one of the most breathtaking outfits of the night – a red, floor-length Elie Saab Couture dress from the autumn/winter 2013 collection. The Country Music Awards are definitely her chance to shine, and she made the most of that opportunity! The dress complemented her figure and skin colour perfectly, and was still age-appropriate despite its dramatic nature. Taylor looked like country music Royalty on the red carpet, completing her look with an effortlessly chic low bun, a flawless complexion and matching bold red lipstick. She kept all other accessories to a minimum, leaving the embellishment on her dress and her personality to do all the sparkling on the red carpet. This is one of our favorite Taylor Swift looks of the year – do you agree?

6 things we learnt from Miley Cyrus’s latest (twerk-free) music video

OK, we had to. Had to what? We had to dissect the latest in-yer-face offering from the House of Cyrus and all things non-Disney: 23 Alluding to Michael Jordan’s jersey number for the Chicago Bulls, 23 is indeed the name of Mike Will Made It’s latest song, featuring Miley– one that racked up over 3million YouTube hits within three hours of Team MFL hitting play (see the video below), and left us wondering how much of that number jumping was thanks to MC. After a sombre, twerk-free, sledgehammer licking affair in Wrecking Ball, 23 highlights Miley’s welcoming into the world of leather pant-clad, molten-mouthed, suspicious roll up smoking rappers (she even opens the song with ‘I’m in the club, high off purp’ – referring to a  recreational drug), and she succeeds in shocking and amusing in equal measure. But as were pretty accustomed to the near nude twerking antics (of which there weren’t many in this video), it was more her fashion choices we were looking at this time round, and here’s what we deduced: 1. Miley isn’t immune to the ortho sandal. She loves a pair of blingin’ Birkenstocks – embellished, fur-lined, Céline ones worn with soccer socks, in fact. 2. We want that patent pinafore dress. Worn with sneakers, or ‘J’s’ if you prefer Miley-speak, it’s the ultimate rebel’s LBD. 3. The deflated derriere is making a comeback. Brid-Jones-meets-basketball-uniform underwear is du jour, and we all know it’s not forgiving on the bum, or going to deliver a miracle buttock lift! Miley makes unflattering underwear look easy in 23, and justifies giving that killer session of squats a miss! 4. More is more when it comes to Chanel. Our need to wear Chanel accessories, in opposing proportions, all at once, has gone into overdrive since watching the video. […]

Watch Jourdan Dunn party in Jessie J’s new music video!

It’s Friday, the sun has come back out to play, you’ve worked hard all week – those are all perfect excuses to have a mini party at your desk. That’s what we’re telling ourselves anyway! As a little Friday treat, we have Jessie J‘s brand spanking new music video for new single It’s My Party (how apt) to show you – and we are thrilled to tell you that it features none other than British model extraordinary Jourdan Dunn! “It was Jourdan’s first music video, so that was really fun for me to experience that with her – sitting next to a supermodel,” said the singer and Marie Claire UK September cover girl. “It was fun, it’s like a straight-up party video.” We thought Cara Delevingne might have been more suited for a “party” video but Jourdan absolutely nails it. We think Jourdan and Jessie make a fantastic team and we don’t think this should be the last time the girls work together! Watch the video for It’s My Party below and let us know what you think of Jourdan’s appearance.

INTERVIEW: Rudi Zygadlo for SWEAR by Music at FarFetch

It’s no secret that we love a good collaboration, and we get particularly excited when the world of fashion and music join forces for an exciting and revolutionary new project! Enter SWEAR by Music! SWEAR has asked five of the music scene’s most dynamic bands to collaborate on its new SWEAR by Music initiative, whereby each band was asked to design a very different pair of limited edition shoes inspired by their music and personal styles. Each band represents one letter of the SWEAR name (clever stuff!) so the complete lineup features Skip and Die, Wolf Gang, Everything Everything, Avec Sans and Rudi Zygadlo. Phew. We caught up with electronic musician Rudi Zygadlo while he was filming his new music video (proudly modelling his SWEAR shoes, natch) and asked him a few cheeky questions between takes about the collaboration. How did this amazing collaboration come about? They were looking for people whose names began with letters from their brand. I was the icing on the cake! So they asked me, and I designed a shoe! What made you say yes? Free shoes! I joke, it sounded like an exciting project. There were a couple of shoes I really liked in their line, for example I really liked The Chaplin, so I just edited it. So talk us through the designing process Inspirationally, I had seen shoes similar to this in the past which I really liked. The two-toned theme reminded me of the 1920s. These are lacking that ornamentation, but I think they’re more versatile actually. Practically designing them, I went in and we looked at their existing stock and built upon that. Would you say your music reflects the style of your shoes? I suppose so, yeah. But I don’t listen to a lot of 1920s music! What would […]

The gorgeous Rosie Huntington Whiteley and the One Direction boys, i.e  Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson (phew) are all posing pretty for the Glamour US August Music Issue. And don’t the boys all look mega pleased with themselves? We predict this issue will fly off the shelves and will be met with mass hysteria from teenage girls and grown men alike; Glamour definitely knew what it was doing by putting a hot model and the hottest boyband in the world on the cover. We don’t know who was luckier, Rosie or the boys! The issue goes on sale on July 9th, so make sure you head to the newsstand early, as we don’t think it’ll stick around for long. Well played, Glamour!

Billboard Music Awards 2013: The best dressed!

You didn’t think Cannes was the only place the well-dressed celebs flocked to over the weekend, did you? The red carpet (well, technically blue) was rolled out for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and the famous attendees certainly showcased their style credentials as they arrived in their finery for the event. Some of our favourite ladies to steal the sartorial show included Miley Cyrus in a gorgeous Balmain jumpsuit, Selena Gomez (who continued to show the world that she has outgrown her Disney Channel princess status by wearing a sexy Atelier Versace gown), her BFF Taylor Swift (who showcased her enviable stems in a piercing blue Zuhair Murad sparkly mini dress) and Jennifer Lopez (who showed the newbies how it’s really done in plunging gold Zuhair Murad). Chloe Moretz also wowed the crowd in a Fendi spring/summer 2013 dress and poker straight, sleek locks, while Kelly Rowland lent some support to designer Rami Al Ali by stepping out in a fabulous couture gown. Take a look at some of our favourite looks from the 2013 Billboard Music Awards below and tell us who gets your best-dressed vote… Miley Cyrus in Balmain Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Chloe Moretz in Fendi Emmy Rossum in Zuhair Murad Kelly Rowland in Rami Al Ali Couture Hayden Panettiere in Halston Heritage Ke$ha in Givenchy Shania Twain in Pavoni by Mikael D [poll id=”399″]

Rita Ora for Elle US ‘Women in Music’ May issue

Remember when we showed you Adele’s cover for the Elle US May “Women in Music” issue? Click here to refresh your memories. And remember how we also told you that Rita Ora and Alicia Keys had also been given their own covers to celebrate their achievements in music, and we would be showing them to you as soon as we got our paws on them? Well, the time has come to check out Rita Ora’s offering in all its glory, and we have to say that it’s definitely been worth the wait. Rita was photographed by Thomas Whiteside for two special covers and a host of stunning editorial pictures, and can be seen rocking a multitude of stylish ensembles from the likes of Calvin Klein, Chanel and Christian Dior – although the Mickey Mouse headpiece by Philip Treacy is a MFL favourite. Her interview is also pretty special too, as she muses about a number of fashion-related topics, such as not letting her record label dictate her sartorial style, her love for the Spice Girls, and of course that red Marchesa dress she wore to the MTV EMAs last year. Not to be missed!

Gucci launches Music Fund for rising UK talent

Following on from the success of last year’s Gucci Timepieces & Jewellery Music Fund which supported emerging Asian musical talent, the Italian fashion House has launched a UK Music Fund to give British artists the same opportunity. Gucci will team up with The World Heart Beat Music Academy in London to give children the chance to be musically trained. A host of famous faces have already got behind the cause, in particular DJ Jo Whiley and singer Emeli Sandé. “It’s crucial that young people today have the chance to express themselves through music and are given opportunities to do so,” Emily Sandé said. “Projects like this make music available to everyone; disadvantaged youths in particular will be able to tell their story and get their voices heard. “These are issues that are close to my heart, so I’m really proud to be part of it.” Additionally, 10 children from the World Heart Beat Music Academy will also be given the chance to attend Grammy Camp in Los Angeles – a programme which aims to coach rising young talent. Maybe the next Adele will be found… This isn’t the only musical event Gucci is getting behind though – don’t forget the Gucci Chime for Change concert happening later this year with performances from Beyonce, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Florence and the Machine and more. Adele fronts Elle US ‘Women in Music’ issue

Another Adele story this week, but this time it has nothing to do with her potential wedding dress as the focus is on her true talent: music! Yep, our Adele is shining on the cover of Elle US May (in vintage Alberta Ferretti, no less), which also just so happens to be the magazine’s Women in Music issue. We think Adele had that one in the bag from the start really – she did win an Oscar for her music this year already, how many other female singers can say that, eh? Adele was shot by Thomas Whiteside, and is sporting her signature beehive and flawless makeup on the front cover; we love the dress but we wouldn’t have minded a pop of colour outfit-wise. It is a May issue after all! Rita Ora and Alicia Keys also have their own individual covers for the Women in Music issue, so keep your eyes peeled for them. Do you like Adele’s cover?

Mean Girls the musical?

We didn’t think anything would top the Spice Girls musical this year, but Tina Fey reckons she can do one better: Mean Girls the musical! Hilarious 30 Rock actress Tina Fey wrote and starred in the original film, featuring Lindsay Lohan and Les Mis star Amanda Seyfried in the wonderful cast, and word on the street blogosphere is that she just might adapt it for Broadway. “I’m trying to develop it actually with my husband who does all the music for 30 Rock,” Tina reportedly told E! news. “I think Paramount’s on board. Yeah.” Tina even joked that Mariah Carey (who showcased an expert knowledge of the film on American Idol recently) has first dibs on the role of Regina George’s mother… “Mariah seems to really know – she knew all the characters,” Tina said. “Maybe she can play Amy Poehler’s part in the musical, Queen Mariah.” Now that’s something we’d love to see! Details at the moment are few and far between, but you mark our words when we say we will update you on every detail as and when we get it. Who’s excited? [Digital Spy]

Fashion musical chairs: The Wang-Balenciaga brouhaha

Describing himself as “determined, hard working and energetic” in an interview with Asia Tatler, Alexander Wang should’ve added “pro at creating a buzz (iness)” to that list. And determination twinned with the entire fash packs energy is what it has taken to understand the rapidly evolving game of fashion house musical chairs that has played out this year. Dior became the new home of Raf Simons. Jil was back at Sander. Hedi skinny trouser hopped to Yves Saint Laurent. Stefano Pilati adopted a new baby called Ermenegildo Zegna, and, the most hyped about creative transfer at the tail end of 2012: Alexander Wang filling Nicolas Ghesquière’s rather large shoes. The Chinese-American designer is the darling of New York Fashion Week, and has perfected his art of not just designing, but entrepreneur-ing (there, we invented a whole new word) in a competitive, and, often repetitive industry. Much like DJ Sliink’s ‘Putcha Ya Back Into It’, the soundtrack to his SS’13 runway show, Wang has also been putting in back breaking effort to land the top job at one of Europe’s most revered fashion houses. Taking over from Ghesquière’s 15-year tenure at the fashion house that balances history with modernity to perfection, both 28-year old Wang’s age and design aesthetic have been flung into the not-so-positive limelight. The design house shuffle will see Wang take over as creative director at Balenciaga, but continue to design for his eponymous, privately-controlled label that has amassed approximately $60 million in sales. Let’s not forget that this long-haired, super-successful man is only 28 and presented his first ready-to-wear collection to the blinded-by-the-commercial-fog eyes of New York’s fashion scene in 2007. Wang is an astute businessman and a fantastic designer, doing what he does very well. He didn’t appear on the scene professing a new design legacy or with […]

The American Music Awards 2012: The best dressed

The EMAs may have just been and gone, but it was time for another celebration of all things musical last night, as the 40th Annual American Music Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. As predicted, the red carpet was full of beautifully-dressed stars not just from the music biz but from all walks of celebrity life. As well as the big musicians such as Gwen Stefani and Taylor Swift, the red carpet was also graced by the likes of top supermodel Heidi Klum and George Clooney’s gorgeous (and very lucky) girlfriend Stacy Keibler, amongst others. Although there was no dress code and obvious theme, the attendees kept things young, fun and flirty, with a definite nod to the upcoming festive season given all the sparkle! It was all quite understated, chic and beautiful, as even the likes of Nicki Minaj and Christina Aguilera swapped their loud, eccentric outfits for more conventional ones – and as a result, looked gorgeous in their respective gowns. (Yes, we know Nicki’s dress is a very bright yellow and doesn’t fit everyone’s definition of the word “understated”, but we definitely think she toned it down since she didn’t arrive towing her very own Pope…) Here’s a list of our best-dressed celebs from the event. Vote for your fave in the poll below! All eyes on Taylor Swift in Jenny Packham at the Country Music Awards

The 46th Country Music Awards took place in Nashville Tennessee last night,  and although a host of talented musicians were honoured at the event, our highlight of the evening was definitely Taylor Swift arriving on the red carpet. We know it probably wasn’t, but it really looks like the stunning Jenny Packham gown was made just for her. The nude and red dress fits the country star like a glove, and accentuates, hugs and flatters every single curve on her body. Looks like Angelina Jolie and Kate Middleton are no longer going to be the only ladies we associate with Jenny Packham from now on! Taylor expertly matched her lip colour to the red detailing on the dress, and kept the rest of her hair and make-up natural. We love how there isn’t a single accessory in sight either – who needs anything else with a dress that gorgeous and an equally beautiful woman wearing it?!

A round up of the best dressed celebs at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012

Could there have been any more events that went on last night? Not only were some of the biggest and most stylish cities in the world taking part in Fashion’s Night Out, the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards were also happening in Los Angeles. Best Dressed of the Week: Taylor Swift in J.Mendel at the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards

Oh, how we love a glorious white number on the red carpet! Taylor Swift looked a heavenly sight in a J.Mendel Fall 2012 cut-out waist dress at the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, last Sunday. A white dress is a huge red carpet style detour for Taylor, who usually opts for pretty, embellished ballerina-style dresses. This glamorous white number is just the kind of grown-up-glamour needed to takeTaylor’s style up a gear, and we can’t stop looking at her hair! Glossy, wavy locks and a blunt fringe add a sleek edge to Taylor’s look, while her kohl-rimmed eyes are the perfect substitute for the red lip we’re so used to seeing her sport. Accessorising with stunning Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Christian Louboutin ‘Summerissima’ criss-cross platform heels (not seen) and a killer hand-on-hip pose, this look is our definite favourite of the week!

YSL: The Musical

We thought Malcolm McLaren’s planned Christian Dior The Musical was a little out there. But it turns out he was just ahead of the designer all singing all dancing game. For it has been announced that Yves Saint Laurent’s life will be set to music. Singer Alain Chamfort and songwriter Pierre-Dominique Burgaud are working on the score and the musical shall focus on Saint Laurent’s rise to fashion fame. The musical will open with his work at Christian Dior and follow the highs and lows of Yves Saint Laurent’s career.

Christian Dior: The Musical

Please welcome the all-singing, the all-dancing Christian Dior. No, it’s not a joke, but a weird and wonderful reality. Malcolm McLaren as in Vivienne Westwood’s male counterpart and collaborator, and manager of the Sex Pistols has told WWD that he is planning a musical about the life of Christian Dior. The musical is reportedly titled ‘The Life and Times of Christian Dior’, McLaren has been working on the concept for the past year and in October 2008, he discussed his inspiration with Interview magazine: “I began to really read about Paris after the liberation, and about what happened, and about what its youth was, and then suddenly I saw a story that really could define music and fashion and how it all happened after the postwar and where it all went. And if I could do that, and trap it, inside this house of Christian Dior, from its birth in ’47 to Dior’s death in ’57 — that seemed to me something worth really investigating as a musical. And if I didn’t have to do it in the way that musicals were made in the past, then that would be something I would — really fight for. So it was a question of coming up with the vision of how to do that. It’s a sexy story about the time and inside the house and the life and times of Christian Dior.” The castings will be taking place over the next month in New York and the score will be in tune with 1940s Paris (not punk for all you eager sex pistol fans). McLaren said he can’t quite imagine a singing and dancing Dior, so we will just have to wait and see what he comes up with. The musical is expected to be ready in the next two […]

Has Diddy’s Arrest Crushed The Facade Of Hollywood?

Hollywood is reeling, and this time it’s not just another scandal. Diddy’s arrest has sent shockwaves through Tinseltown, tearing down the glitzy facade we’ve all bought into. It’s a huge wake-up call. The man who once seemed untouchable is suddenly at the center of controversy, and it’s got everyone talking. But here’s the thing – this isn’t just about one person. The Diddy case has opened up a whole can of worms, with other celebrities being named in court filings too. It’s got me wondering: is this the beginning of a bigger shift in how we view our idols? I can’t help but think we might be on the cusp of some real changes in Tinseltown. Facade Versus Reality. Hollywood’s Illusion of Perfection I’ve always been fascinated by Hollywood’s carefully crafted image of glitz and glamour. But now, that Diddy’s been charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking that perfect facade is crumbling before our eyes. It’s like peeking behind the curtain, and boy, it ain’t pretty. Remember those lavish parties we’d hear about? Turns out they might’ve been hiding some pretty dark secrets. Ashton Kutcher even hinted at it back in 2019. And Cassie brought it out into the open when she accused Diddy of forcing her to participate in “freak offs”. These parties, allegedly organized by Diddy, are at the center of the sex trafficking charges and the feds have been building a case for months, piecing together a complex web of allegations. The indictment was a bombshell. It painted a picture of a criminal enterprise, with Diddy at the helm. Sex trafficking, intimidation, and abuse – the charges are serious and numerous. We’re starting to see Hollywood in a whole new light. It’s not all red carpets and designer gowns. There’s a seedy underbelly that’s finally coming to light, […]

Multitasking is a Myth! Why Juggling Too Many Things Is Sabotaging Your Success

Multitasking is a trap. I used to think doing ten things at once meant I was productive, efficient—even unstoppable. But guess what? It was the exact opposite. Juggling too many things is wrecking your focus, your energy, and ultimately, your success. You think you’re getting more done, but in reality? You’re spinning your wheels. One minute you’re replying to emails, the next you’re on a call, and before you know it, hours have gone by with barely anything crossed off your list. Here’s the truth: multitasking is a myth. And if you’re still buying into it, you’re setting yourself up for failure. The Science Behind the Myth Now, I’m no scientist, but the research on this is pretty darn compelling. Our brains aren’t wired to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously. What we call “multitasking” is actually just rapid task-switching. And studies show that each time we switch, there’s a cognitive cost. The Task-Switching Penalty Every time you switch from one task to another, your brain needs time to refocus. It’s like changing lanes on a busy highway – it takes time and energy to safely move over. This “switching cost” can reduce your productivity by as much as 40%! That’s nearly half of your workday, down the drain. Yikes! Think about it this way: let’s say you’re working on a report, and you decide to quickly check your email. Seems harmless, right? Wrong! When you switch back to your report, your brain needs time to remember where you left off, what you were thinking about, and what you were planning to write next. This process happens every single time you switch tasks, and those little moments add up to a significant loss of productivity over the course of a day. The Illusion of Productivity Multitasking FEELS productive. It gives us […]
