Talent show judges seem to be getting bigger and better as the years go on, don’t they? The latest star to sit in a judging seat is red hot Rita Ora who has just signed on for The Voice, replacing pint sized diva Kylie Minogue. The rest of the coaches – Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson are all returning. “Sir Tom Jones is our rock, Ricky is awesome and it’s our pleasure to welcome the very talented Rita Ora,” Will.i.am said. “Rita is sweet, spicy and sassy – she’s going to be a great addition to the Coaches team.” Here, here! We have to admit that Kylie did a cracking job as a judge and really held her own against the other boys, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited to see Rita Ora come in and really mix things up. Between her edgy yet contemporary fashion sense and ground-breaking music, we think she might just be the best – and most relevant – judge yet! Bring on the new series! [BBC]

Rita Ora sparkles in Zuhair Murad Couture at GQ Men of the Year awards
Kim Kardashian may have been crowned GQ Woman of the Year, but the reality TV star turned businesswoman wasn’t the only woman turning heads at the GQ Awards. We think Rita Ora looked sensational as she arrived on the red carpet at the Royal Opera House on Tuesday night, sparkling from head to toe in a Zuhair Murad Couture dress that will have us mesmerised for weeks, maybe even months, to come. As more sparkles than you can shake a stick at, Rita’s Zuhair Murad Couture asymmetric dress also came with a dangerously high slit to the hip and a singular embellished long sleeve. It takes someone special to wear and pull off a gown of this intricacy – and we think Rita Ora absolutely nailed it! Do we think she might be a contender for the GQ Woman of the Year prize in 2015? We wouldn’t be surprised if the answer is “yes” so watch this space!
Read MoreFashion Rocks returns, Rita Ora and Jennifer Lopez lined up to perform!
Fashion Rocks is returning after a five year absence – and it sounds like it’s coming back with one big almighty bang! The annual fundraising event that combines both music and fashion will be returning this September, although we have a bit of bad news for Londoners as it’s no longer being held in our fine capital city. Excellent news for New Yorkers though, as the concert is coming to the Big Apple for the first time ever. The Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, to be exact! The event will be sponsored by Calvin Klein, which means we can expect to see the latest collections from Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear, and will feature performances from Jennifer Lopez, Usher, and our very own Rita Ora, among others. Sounds pretty exciting, doesn’t it? Fashion Rocks will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday September 9th – American viewers can tune into CBS and watch it live. We’ll let Brit viewers know where and when to watch it as soon as we know! Are you pleased to see Fashion Rocks return? Are you glad to see it move over to New York or should it have stayed here in London? [Harper’s Bazaar]
Read MoreRita Ora joins real New Yorkers in DKNY Jeans ad
Jeans are definitely having a moment right now – this week in particular. A few days ago, we revealed that Kate Upton was the new face of Express jeans, while Katie Holmes sported some seriously stylish double denim on the Glamour US August issue that would make an early naughties Britney and Justin jealous. And now to put the cherry right on top of the denim cake, Rita Ora has appeared in the ad campaign for DKNY Jeans. What do you think? This is a pretty interesting ad campaign actually, and not just because Rita looks flawless. Not only does it feature one of the most famous and relevant female singers, but the other ladies posing for the camera are real life New Yorkers. Pretty cool right? We know how Donna Karan likes authenticity with her eponymous label and the DKNY line, so the news that she chose fresh Big Apple residents for the photoshoot doesn’t surprise us in the slightest. The models in question are, in no particular order: A$AP ILLZ, Eliza Cummings, Soo Joo Park, Dorith Mous, Daniel Bamdad, Ben Jarvis, Melissa Burns, Masha Korchagina,Brandee Brown, Mike Bailey Gates, Akito Nara, Jon Tuite, Carlos Santolalla, and May Hong. Oh and that fierce looking blonde one towards the right is someone who goes by the name of Rita Ora. We love this campaign; well played, DK!
Read MoreRita Ora wows in Roberto Cavalli AW14 ad campaign
Looks like Rita Ora definitely is the new face of Roberto Cavalli! The rumours first started circulating back in April – but the picture above is all the confirmation we need that the rumours were true all along. Doesn’t she look incredible? Rita is channeling Marilyn Monroe in the Roberto Cavalli autumn/winter 2014 ad campaign images, with a modern day contemporary twist thrown in for good measure. We know that Rita can sometimes be a bit of a tomboy with her off duty personal sartorial style, but she is the epitome of elegance and glamour in each and every campaign image. We wouldn’t object if the singer and rumoured new girlfriend of Tommy Hilfiger’s son stuck with this softer look permanently. There’s something quite enchanting about the soft peroxide curls, don’t you think? What do you guys think of the ad campaign images above? Does Rita Ora fit the Roberto Cavalli aesthetic perfectly or can you think of a more appropriate famous face?
Read MoreIs Rita Ora dating Tommy Hilfiger’s son?
We don’t really like to listen to celebrity romance gossip (as juicy as it may be!) as we know that not everything is as it seems… but we couldn’t help but get ridiculously excited when we heard the rumours that Rita Ora and Tommy Hilfiger’s son might be dating. We saw some pics of Rita and Ricky (R and R – eat your hearts out Kim and Kanye!) pop up on Twitter and Instagram over the past couple of weeks but didn’t think anything of it… until we also noticed that Rita has been wearing a lot more Tommy Hilfiger of late. So what do we know about the rumoured new couple who first met at a party in Hollywood? “Ricky came over to Europe to hang with Rita a bit more this summer,” a ‘source’ allegedly told The Mirror. “They really hit it off when they met and really like each other, so Rita invited him over to join her. They want to see where things might take them – they’re just having a lot of fun.” We think that’s as much info as we will be getting at the moment, but we have our detective hats on waiting for more clues to crop up. In the meantime, we will have a great time flicking through the Tommy Hilfiger archives, searching for potential future wedding dresses for Rita. And does this also mean that a Rita Ora/Tommy Hilfiger collaboration could be in the works too? Watch this space!
Read MoreRita Ora nails the Glastonbury Festival style trend
There was a lot going on at the weekend; the World Cup, Wimbledon, and of course, Glastonbury. We love spying what the A-listers wear at festivals when they are on the stage singing their hearts out, or off the stage having some down time and enjoying other artists, and the one lady that caught our eye the most was Miss Rita Ora. Rita showcased what hours of hard work in the gym (or perhaps rehearsing for those raunchy and high-action dance moves) looks like by wearing a barely there cropped top and jean shorts while off-duty. We’re a bit confused by the random bit of fur she has thrown over her shoulder, but her abs are doing a good job of distracting us so we’ll let that slide. She completed her look with the must-have footwear choices of Glastonbury – or any festival for that matter – and that was a fab pair of Hunter Original Block Heel Chelsea boots from the autumn/winter 2014 LFW show collection. No heels and flip flops for a festival in England – Hunter wellies are definitely your best friends when there’s rain and mud around. What do you think of Rita’s Glastonbury look? [Image]
Read MoreRita Ora vs. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley…Who wore Gucci better?
Carrying off a Gucci number takes some skill; not only do you have to peak at glamazon levels, but everything down to the last accessory and stray hair strand matters! Making us pick between them this week, in the same Gucci gown, are Rita Ora and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Both ladies took to their respective red carpets in this stunning black spring 2014 halter gown, with baby pink embellishment. Gucci looks always deiver the dare-to-bare factor, and there was plenty of that around with this look! First up to slip into the gown was Rosie, who wore it to the LACMA Art + Film Gala back in November 2013. Like a pro, the statuesque model let the gown do all the show-stopping, by keeping accessories and make-up pared down and hair swept away from her face. Catching up with Ms. H-W was another Brit. Singer Rita Ora put her own spin on the glam gown, when she made an appearance in it at the Weinstein company’s Post-BAFTA party back in February. Featuring her signature tousled bob and bright red lip, the ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ singer added her usual lashings of accessories. So, who wins in this war of the gowns? We’re giving this one to…wait for it…Rosie! This gown calls for a minimalist approach to styling, and Rita’s extra accessories and loud lip are unnecessary add-ons. Rosie owns this one by a fair few style miles. Agree? [Images: Rita; Rosie]

She may have rubbed Superga up the wrong way by breaching her contract, but that hasn’t stopped the job offers from rolling in for Rita Ora. If we are to believe the rumours that have suddenly emerged, the singer and style maven may have just landed an exciting new contract with Roberto Cavalli. Page Six reports that Rita celebrated her Roberto Cavalli ad campaign with Eva Cavalli, Maxwell, Russell Simmons and Francesco Carrozzini at dinner on Saturday night. It totally makes sense for Rita to be the face of the Italian fashion label, especially if we take into account how often she has worn one of its pieces over the years. One of her most recent outfits was the see-through one above which she wore to Coachella just a few weeks ago. Rimmel London, DKNY, a potential contract with Adidas, and now Roberto Cavalli – pretty soon Rita just might have more modelling work than her BFF Cara Delevingne. We hope the rumours are true but we’ll keep you posted as and when we get more info. [Image]
Read MoreRita Ora gets into trouble with Superga
Uh oh – looks like Rita Ora is in a little spot of trouble with Superga! The singer was reportedly paid a tidy sum of £180,000 to be the face of the brand, and as a result, stay faithful to it and not wear trainers by anyone else. However, Rita was snapped coming out of popular London nightspot Mahiki in a pair of rival Converse sneakers, resulting in Superga withdrawing her last payment. Yikes! Rita has since tried to sue Superga for stopping her payment, despite breaching the contract. We’re not too sure how it went down in court but a settlement was reportedly reached and everyone has moved on with their lives so we think we’ll leave it at that. Rita Ora has moved on by signing up to work with Adidas, and Superga has moved on by tapping Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend Suki Waterhouse to be its newest brand ambassador. Phew! [Daily Mail]
Read MoreRita Ora wows in white Roberto Cavalli at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum
It doesn’t look like we can go very many days without swooning over Rita Ora’s sartorial choices at the moment – and her latest look is an absolute killer! The singer and style maven attended The Glamour of Italian Fashion Exhibition Preview at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, wearing one of the finest Italian designers of them all: Roberto Cavalli. Rita wowed the crowd in a floor-length white dress from Roberto Cavalli’s autumn/winter 2014 collection, proving that white really is the go-to colour of the moment. First Emma Watson in Ralph Lauren, then Olivia Cooke in Mulberry, and now Rita is taking on the trend, too! We think Rita wanted to one-up Emma and Olivia by embracing the white trend, as she accessorised her dress with a white bag and white hair, which we think might have been inspired by Nicole Richie’s ‘do at last year’s Met Gala. Her token red lip completed the look perfectly and added just the right amount of colour! Do you love Rita’s look?
Read MoreA topless Rita Ora and her tattoo cover Elle UK’s May issue
We are truly blown away by Elle UK’s May cover featuring the one and only Miss Rita Ora. The topless pose, the tattoo that almost pulls focus, the pink Christian Dior skirt, and Rita’s bold red pout – this cover simply has it all! Rita – and the mag – obviously knew that the tattoo was going to be a big talking point, which is why it features quite heavily in the editorial and accompanying interview… “It’s based on an original piece by Alberto Vargas, who was an incredible illustrator in the 1930s,” Rita explained about her tattoo. “He was one of the creators of the pin-up image. That’s our build, our power. “That’s why I was obsessed with it; learning what men don’t understand about women and what women don’t understand about men. I was obsessed with the painting a long time ago, and then I got it done six months ago.” Well, there you have it. A detailed reason if ever there was one. You can read the rest of Rita’s interview and see her posing for more gorgeous pictures in the Elle UK May issue.
Read MoreRita Ora works two Moschino looks in London
When we saw Jeremy Scott unveil his debut collection for Moschino back in February, we knew that we would be seeing the boldest of fashionistas braving his pop culture influenced designs. Katy Perry and Anna Dello Russo have already stepped out in designs from the Moschino autumn/winter 2014 collection – and owned them, may we add – but Rita Ora is giving it a jolly good go, too. The singer rocked not one but two outfits from the recent Moschino collection – rocking them both with ease, as expected. Rita had some fun with her sartorial choice while promoting her new single I Will Never Let You Down in London’s Leicester Square by donning the Spongebob Squarepants jumper dress and teaming it with some matching shoes and an infectious smile! She then smarted up at the Kiss FM studios by wearing the high waisted red trousers with a cute pale yellow blouse that paid homage to everyone’s favourite fast food chain, McDonalds. We can’t help but love both of these looks; which one is your favourite?

We know, the sports luxe trend has infiltrated our wardrobes for several seasons now. From bomber jackets reigning supreme to track pants and heels becoming de rigeur; it’s as though our wardrobes have transformed into hyper-luxe, walk-in gyms, where a casual ensemble does work for night. But, when the dwellers of A-list land take it upon themselves to literally translate the trend, it’s a more Sporty Spice affair than, say, anything remotely Alexander Wang. Culprit in question this week: Rita Ora, who flashed before our eyes a hyper-floral Adidas tracksuit, complete with impressive ab-flashing crop top (we’re convinced it’s a sports bra). Earlier this year, the 23-year-old British singer confirmed she was working on an autumn/winter 2014 collaboration with the sports brand, and it seems she’s staying true to her business loyalties with this look! Sporting matching sneakers and an ‘early morning’ look about her, there’s something intentionally lazy about this look and we don’t like it. We get it, Rita, you we’re trying to channel a casual cool vibe here, but the attempt fell flat – pretty much like those sneakers! From the lady who has the killer red lip and literal street style down to a T, we’re not impressed with this eyesore of an ensemble. Get it together, Reets, and let this look R.I.P. What do you think of Rita’s tracksuit look? [Image]

Marks and Spencer’s latest ad campaign is here, and it looks like the speculation about the all-star cast was true! The Leading Ladies posing pretty for Annie Leibovitz’s camera lens this time around are: Rita Ora, Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon, Annie Lennox, Emma Thompson, Lulu Kennedy, Rachel Khoo, Alek Wek and Roma Agrawal. Phew – we think we got them all in there! “These dynamic Leading Ladies represent the unique and diverse women of a modern Britain,” said Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, a spokesperson for M&S. “They are united in their extraordinary achievements but confident in their differences. “Marks & Spencer is a democratic brand which is relevant to women of all ages and strands of life; it is therefore natural for M&S to celebrate women in this way.” Take a look at the video below to see the Leading Ladies discussing the ways in which they approach fashion and their personal style choices – a great video which showcases their diversity and uniqueness. Read MoreRita Ora feels “like a bad b*tch” on DKNY front row
Rita Ora may have been a bag of nerves before walking down the DKNY spring/summer 2014 runway last season, but the singer had a far more comfortable view this time around, as she joined Victoria Justice and other celeb pals on the front row of the autumn/winter 2014 show instead. Even though she wasn’t walking down the runway,Rita still commanded a lot of attention in her getup, opting to wear a fun and flirty tartan dress, which she toughened up with a biker jacket with a very daring message on the back (FYI it says “when I wear DKNY I feel like a bad b*tch”) flung over her shoulders and some seriously sexy strappy black heels. Matching red polish on her toes and bold red lippie completed her provocative look! Definitely one of our favourite front row spottings on the New York Fashion Week front row so far; what do you guys think?

Following in the famous and gorgeously British footsteps of Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger, among others, is Rita Ora – whose debut ad campaign for Rimmel London has just launched online. And what a stunning ad campaign it is! The 23 year old singer, model (she has so many ads under her belt already we have no choice but to also refer to her as a model!) and overall fashionista is striking her fiercest poses for the Rimmel London products, including the ScandalEyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner (bottom right). Although with that bold red lippie, her eyes aren’t the only things commanding our attention! “It was so much fun working with Rimmel,’ Rita said. “I guess we’re inspired by many of the same things – fashion, colour, sounds, style, life in general and London in particular. I hope Rimmel girls everywhere will love these colours as much as I do.” The collection is very patriotic indeed, featuring a very British red, white and blue colour palette. Bold, colourful and totally wow-worthy – we would expect nothing less from Rita and Rimmel!

Is Rita Ora auditioning to be the new Snow Queen? Following her stunning white feathered Marchesa look at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday, Rita has stepped out in yet another icy white ensemble at the Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards at Claridge’s in London. This time round, the singer and multiple ad campaign star wore a gorgeous Ermanno Scervino dress from the designer’s autumn/winter 2013 collection – accompanied with a fresh platinum blonde hair colour. She certainly takes a theme and runs with it, doesn’t she? The pure white colour of the dress was juxtaposed rather dramatically with Rita’s bold black eyes and deep red lippie, so there was no chance of her being washed away or blending into the background.
Read MoreRita Ora and Taylor Swift wow on BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards red carpet
Although they are both successful singers, Rita Ora and Taylor Swift are quite different. They have a different audience, different sounds and different looks… but they were united in stealing the sartorial show at last night’s BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards. Taylor Swift, one of the presenters, looked sweet yet sophisticated in a gorgeous turquoise dress from the Jenny Packham autumn/winter 2013 collection. She proved that Jenny Packham can do short and sweet styles just as well as she does long, sweeping and smoldering styles that Kate Middleton and Dita von Teese favour. The dress fitted her like a glove, and her subtle waves and light pink lipstick complemented it wonderfully. Rita Ora chose to make more of an in-your-face statement on the red carpet by stepping out in a white feathered dress from the brand new Marchesa spring/summer 2014 collection. The dress certainly stood out a mile, but Rita kept the rest of her look – hair, make-up and accessories – simple, so the dress could do all the talking. Two of our best dressed ladies on the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards red carpet, for sure! [Images]
Read MoreDame Helen Mirren vs. Rita Ora…Who wore Dolce & Gabbana better?
Another week, another frock-off worth dissecting! This week, two ladies at opposite ends of the style spectrum pulled of the same Dolce & Gabbana gown with such aplomb, our jaws dropped below our knees in awe. Dame Helen Mirren and Rita Ora stepped out, at different events, of course, in a red lace Dolce & Gabbana dress, otherwise known as a sure-fire sartorial hit. Rita got first dibs on the dress, as she wore it to perform in Las Vegas last month, whilst Dame Helen opted to wear it last week, at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong’s 50th Anniversary Gala. Stylistically, both Rita and Dame Helen are pole opposites – although both do love to dabble in fun fashion every so often – and this showed in their individual looks. Whilst Dame Helen opted to wear the red lace number atop a full-length white silk slip, Rita went for a slightly more risqué look, covering up underneath with a black bodysuit. Dame Helen’s soft long crop looked elegant against the striking gown, and, although we think it wasn’t really necessary, wearing the crucifix necklace as a cummerbund is pure jewellery genius! Completing the look were matching crucifix earrings. Rita’s not one to shy away from experimenting with her wardrobe, and vamping up otherwise traditional red carpet looks is what she does best. In her element with this look, she opted for sleek, side-parted hair; crucifix earrings and matching necklace, and her signature crimson pout. Although we think both Rita and Dame Helen nailed Lady In Red style, Dame Helen takes the prize for this one. She looks poised, yet she’s unafraid to break free from the stereotypical style rut often associated with senior figures in Hollywood: the perfect balance between demure and daring. We love it! Whose look wins for […]
Read MoreIs Rita Ora the new face of Chanel?
If we are to believe the speculation, Rita Ora may very well be the brand new face of Chanel… news which is making us very giddy with excitement indeed. This news doesn’t really surprise us considering she was on the front row for the Chanel spring/summer 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week. “Taking a midnight stroll with the man who inspires me to be glamorous at all times without a hint of doubt. Love you uncle Karl,” she wrote on her Instagram while posting some pictures of her antics with Karl Lagerfeld and Cara Delevingne. She also captioned another picture with the following: “HORNS ON HORNS ON HORNS….#CoCoBaby #KL #secret #surprise” The words Karl Lagerfeld, Coco, Secret and Surprise all point to good things so we can’t wait until someone lets the cat out the bag and lets us know what is officially happening. It would be a great addition to her already very impressive fashion CV which also boasts ads for DKNY and Material Girl, among others. We would love to see Rita Ora star alongside BFF Cara Delevingne in a Chanel ad… wouldn’t you? [Metro]
Read MoreRita Ora vs. Ciara…Who wore Emilio Pucci better?
We can always expect dresses with serious style bite to stride down the Emilio Pucci runway. And this week’s Who Wore it Better contestants are battling it out in a dress by none other than Mr. Peter Dundas – a man who knows how to make maximum impact with minimum length. Parading their gorgeous bods in a striking, barqoue-print studded mini dress this week are Rita Ora and Ciara, who both wore the same dress from the autumn/winter 2013 collection, albeit months apart. First up, Rita Ora slipped into the printed mini at the Chime for Change after party back in June. Pairing the dress with Casadei gladiator heels; her icy blonde barnet was styled into a retro-inspired, curly up do, accented by strong brows and her signature red lip. But giving the dress its second outing was Ciara, who wore it to the Emilio Pucci store opening on Avenue Montaigne during Paris Fashion Week. Replicating the runway look, Ciara wore the dress with over-the-knee boots, keeping her hair and makeup pretty subdued. Now, who to choose as this week’s fash-off champ? Well, given both ladies put their personal spin on the dress, we’ve fallen head over boots in love with Ciara’s take on the runway piece. Neutral makeup, Frenchie bed head hair and THOSE boots are true winners for us, putting Rita’s more is more approach firmly in the no-no pile. Agree with our style verdict? Let us know your thoughts below.

Sometimes, we wonder if celebrities live in a state of permanent blackout. Are they getting dressed in the dark, like, everyday? If so, why?! A name often associated with a funky frock; Rita Ora’s recent outing in Calvin Harris’s shirt-cum-dress-cum-crumpled nightie left us feeling a little, well, short-changed on the fashion front. With her boss perfecting the art of making the humble white shirt look hip in an art gallery, Jay Z’s protégée made for some seriously painful viewing when she was papped heading to a 24-hour spa in LA. Wearing an oversized shirt featuring an elongated gold bib front, Rita accessorised her odd wardrobe choice with a bondage choker, a hairdo that harked back to the Nineties (maybe a tamed version of a Gwen Stefani do?) and her signature red lip. Whilst a polka dot backpack looked a little out of place with the loopy look, we loved the Givenchy Shark Lock wedge ankle boots. Next time, dearest Rita, maybe opt for a slightly toned down look when heading for downtime at a spa? [Image]
Read MorePaloma Faith vs. Rita Ora…Who wore Diane von Furstenberg better?
In the battle of gorgeous gowns this week, we have the eccentrically charming and sartorially accomplished Paloma Faith, going head to head with Jay Z’s favourite protégée this side of the pond, Rita Ora. Both rocking a Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2013 sequined gown, there was some serious shimmering action to take in, and we weren’t about to let this fash-off slip from our style radar! Paloma Faith wowed at T in the Park last month, as she took to the stage in said dress. In true Paloma style, she adorned the look with an over-the-top floral headpiece and matching Steve Madden platform pumps. But beating the 30 Minute Love Affair singer to donning the Diane von Furstenberg beauty was Rita Ora, who debuted the look at the Brit Awards nominations announcement back in January. Pairing the gorgeous gown with nude pumps, a soft lip and a slick of crimson on the nails, she certainly nailed the look (pardon the pun!) Picking a winner sure isn’t an easy task, especially when both contenders look this great, but we had to settle on a favourite…and this week, we’re going with the crooner guilty of serious style, Paloma! The look-at-me headpiece, retro-inspired hairdo and sky high heels all add interest to the mono-coloured gown. Rita’s look, on the other hand, is a bit too tonal for our liking. What say you? Whose look was a winner for you?

She may be the brand new face of DKNY, but that doesn’t mean Rita Ora has abandoned her love of British fashion. The Brit singing sensation was spotted out and about in the Big Apple in a Burberry creation last night; and not just any Burbs creation… the one her BFF Cara Delevingne paraded down the Burberry Prorsum London Fashion Week catwalk back in February. Isn’t that nice? 22-year-old Rita dressed her Burberry autumn/winter 2013 rubber pencil skirt – which comes complete with heart print hotpants, don’tcha know – with a crisp white blouse tucked inside, some elegant strappy sandals, and a bold red lip. It’s a lot more toned down than her usual sartorial choices, and we absolutely love it! Definitely one of her best looks from the past couple of months! Do you like the way Rita styled her skirt or do you prefer the catwalk styling as modelled by Miss Cara? [Images]

That’s the thing about fashion though, unpredictable as ever! Rita is literally stepping into best friend Cara Delevingne’s shoes, as she has become the brand new face of DKNY. Is she stepping on some toes or did Cara help Rita land this highly coveted job? Your guess is as good as ours at the moment! Yesterday we treated you to a very sneaky peek at Rita Ora’s debut Material Girl ad campaign, and now it’s time to check out the full campaign in all its glory. That also means a behind-the-scenes video, interview, and more pics than you can shale a stick at! Hooray! “Material Girl is so good because it’s easy to get a hold of – at Macy’s – and it’s affordable which I love,” Rita explained. “And what Material Girl means is just so much more than just a girl. It means fashion. It means confidence. It means belief and inspiration and freedom to really express yourself. Material Girl as a brand is that I don’t really think it follows trends. We make trends.” All this obsession with London and Britain (getting British faces to front the line – first Kelly Osbourne, then Georgia May Jagger and now Rita Ora) makes the whole thing a little bittersweet – we love how the brand is embracing our country and city, but we don’t love the fact that Macy’s doesn’t ship to the UK. Will Madonna and daughter Lourdes expand? Watch this space! We love the ads and stand by what we said yesterday: Rita Ora really is the perfect face and body for the brand. Decisions fly like names did for Kimye’s baby, and the process is prolonged by the fact that we’re flitting between to die-for Dior, and sexy Ungaro. Both Krysten Ritter and Rita Ora wore said looks respectively this week, landing us with the tough task of eliminating one of them from the fashion final! And, sticking close to home shores, we went with the inimitable Ms. Ora. On a roll, thanks to her spot at Glasto and the hunky Mr. Calvin Harris as her beau, not to mention killer style to boot, Rita stole the limelight at the Isle of MTV conference in Malta in a sexy Emanuel Ungaro autumn/winter 2013 number. The oversized, belted tux-style dress, adorned with statement shoulder and collar embellishment, caught our eye thanks to Rita’s sweet-with-a-razor-edge fishtail plaits, signature red lips and relaxed pose. Always one to mould high-end looks to serve her street-cool personality, The ‘Radioactive’ singer finished her look with Louboutin pumps and Jennifer Meyer jewellery. What do you make of Rita’s look? Worthy of BDOTW? We think so! [Image: Vogue]

It’s not just the tennis pros that love a bit of Stella McCartney; British singing sensations also can’t seem to get enough of the designer either. Rita Ora being one of them! The singer was spotted out and about in London rocking a black and white Stella McCartney ensemble with wide horizontal stripes, teamed with her statement, signature red lippie and some super-fierce futuristic cat eye sunglasses from Miu Miu. We’ve been a bit unsure about quirky sunglasses ourselves, but Rita is definitely helping us move towards the “pro” side of the spectrum. Plus her newly acquired longer locks bring a softer, more glamorous edge to her look, which we like very much. Do you like Rita’s look or do you think she looks like a cross between a modern-day Beetlejuice and a prisoner?
Read MoreAre Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora designing a clothing line?
The big question on everyone’s lips this morning is: Are BFFs Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora designing a clothing line together? If we are to believe The Sun (meh), then yes they are – and that is our cue to start celebrating! “Rita and Cara have been talking about the idea for weeks now,” a source allegedly told the red top. “Cara has great fashion industry contacts and Rita loves her clothes and keeps up with trends. “They think a line could compete with those released by Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss. Rita’s become increasingly matey with Chloe Green and has mentioned the idea to her in the hope that she might help get it to her dad, Topshop boss Philip.” We definitely think befriending Chloe Green is a step in the right direction. We’d love to see a Rita x Cara clothing line. Expect snap back caps, wedge trainers, printed trousers, loud logo tees, and more! Hopefully a more official source will step in to confirm or deny these rumours. Fingers crossed it’s the former! [Grazia]

It’s not just the music industry Rita Ora is taking over – she’s also all over the fashion world too. Rita is already the face of Superga, but it looks like she’s going to have an other set of ad campaigns under her belt, as its just been reported that she has signed a £500,000 deal to be the face of Material Girl – the clothing line Madonna and her daughter Lourdes founded. “Lourdes has been a fan of Rita for a while and has been to many of her gigs. She persuaded her mum to see her,” a source allegedly told The Sun. “They met at the Met Ball in New York last week and Madonna admired Rita’s attitude so signed the idea off. “Rita jumped at the chance because she’s such a fan of the Queen Of Pop. She also hopes it will help her crack the States in the same way she has the UK.” Previous faces of the line include Talyor Momsen, Kelly Osbourne and Georgia May Jagger – we think Rita Ora will fit in rather nicely, don’t you?

Remember when we showed you Adele’s cover for the Elle US May “Women in Music” issue? Click here to refresh your memories. And remember how we also told you that Rita Ora and Alicia Keys had also been given their own covers to celebrate their achievements in music, and we would be showing them to you as soon as we got our paws on them? Well, the time has come to check out Rita Ora’s offering in all its glory, and we have to say that it’s definitely been worth the wait. Rita was photographed by Thomas Whiteside for two special covers and a host of stunning editorial pictures, and can be seen rocking a multitude of stylish ensembles from the likes of Calvin Klein, Chanel and Christian Dior – although the Mickey Mouse headpiece by Philip Treacy is a MFL favourite. Her interview is also pretty special too, as she muses about a number of fashion-related topics, such as not letting her record label dictate her sartorial style, her love for the Spice Girls, and of course that red Marchesa dress she wore to the MTV EMAs last year. Not to be missed!

It’s been a while since it was announced that Rita Ora would take over from Alexa Chung as the face of Superga, but now it’s finally time to check out her debut pictures in all their glory. On first glance, we’re actually pretty impressed with what the 22-year-old singer has to offer! What do you think of her efforts? Do you think she got some fierce posing tips from new BFF Cara Delevingne? A cute selection of blinding white and cooler grey Superga trainers are well and truly on display in the spring/summer 2013 ad campaign images, as are an abundance of musical props – no doubt to make the ads more personal to their new brand ambassador. We wonder how much input Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – who were recently named creative directors of the Italian brand – had in the concept of the shoot… [Telegraph] [Images]
Read MoreHigh Street: 1 Rita Ora: 0
This week’s been a bit of a stirrer on Planet Fashion, as we brace ourselves for Fashion Month and all the news that unfolds with it. Firstly, the urbanisation of what is supposed to be a copious dose of unadulterated luxury (thanks, Rita!) has led to many a sleepless night, and secondly, the arrival of the High Street on the High fashion runway. They say every writer should be as cynical as is humanly possible in order to really raise his or her voice against the unjust practices of the rapidly rotating (fashion) planet, but I don’t want to be the one who applies the dampener, so to speak. Well, not entirely. Let’s begin with Rita Ora’s recent outing in Le Paree for Couture Fashion Week. We know Jay-Z’s protégée brings her A game in the form of an eclectic dress sense, and equally vivid hair to match, but it was the shocking ‘devaluation’ of an uber-luxe item, namely the Hermès Birkin bag that left me in a destructive-to-luxury daze. Stepping out in moon boot-equivalent sneakers, multi-patch Adidas trousers and neon knit is bad enough, but throwing one of the most revered handbags into the mix doesn’t sit well with me. Although Rita’s affinity for carrying a Birkin with almost every ensemble she appears in is pretty evident, this isn’t the catwalk-ready definition of sport-luxe I was thinking of. But on an ever so slightly more sartorially positive note, Rita brought the Boy (see what I did there) to the front row at the Chanel Couture show in Paris, teaming Wang boots with a floaty dress, topped off with a red leather jacket. Not a huge fan of this (again) try-hard ensemble (the red lips were the only necessity), but then again, isn’t that the only idea that underscores most of […]
Read MoreRita Ora covers Glamour UK’s January 2013 issue in Christian Dior
22-year-old British singer Rita Ora has been in the press a lot these past 24 hours, but we’re not going to focus on all the negative aspects and instead will divert your attention to a more positive subject: her latest Glamour cover. Yes, Rita is the cover star of Glamour UK’s January 2013 issue, which we think couldn’t have come at a better time – new year, new start and all that jazz! The RIP singer (let’s hope she isn’t saying that to her career after the allegations over the past few days!) is prone to sporting the odd questionable outfit while she’s out and about – often choosing to dress rather casually and androgynously – but she’s rocking a gorgeous feminine Christian Dior dress for the Glamour cover… and we don’t think she’s ever looked better! We can’t wait to see what other bold fashion choices Rita will be treating us to in the new year; will she go for an image overhaul? Only time will tell! Do you like Rita’s girly Glamour cover or are you a fan of her edgier looks? And are you as fascinated by that “the unforgettable advice Beyonce gave me” quote as we are?
Read MoreRita Ora vs. Heidi Klum: Who rocked Alexandre Vauthier Couture better?
We love a good old fashion face-off, and this week’s style rivals do it in some very beautiful outfits. Supermodel Heidi Klum wore a stunning, gold, guipure lace dress from the Fall 2012 Alexandre Vauthier Couture collection to the 2012 American Music Awards earlier this month. However, back in September Jay-Z’s protégée Rita Ora wore the same outfit, albeit in a peplum suit version, for the MTV Video Music Awards after-party. Both ladies looked exceptional in their respective outfits, and even opted for the same matching Christian Louboutin guipure lace pumps, but there can only be one queen to the style throne with this look! And this week’s style crown goes to…* drum roll*…wait for it…Rita Ora! By now, you’re probably pretty aware of the immense love we have for risk takers in the A-lister land of fashion, and Rita’s tailored rendition of Heidi’s pretty-but-safe dress gets top marks from us! As much as we adore Heidi’s killer pin-flashing look, it almost feels too tried-and-tested. We love Rita’s risqué neckline, matching heels and signature kooky sunnies which give this prim couture look a fashion forward edge. Do you agree with our verdict? Which look do you prefer?
Read MoreRita Ora vs. Gwen Stefani – Who carried off McQ Alexander McQueen better?
Last week Rita Ora donned a stunning, black tulle tutu dress with colourful floral appliqués from the McQ McQueen Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, and we instantly fell in love with it – again! Because only a few weeks back, Gwen Stefani was styled in a similar tulle floral appliqué skirt from said collection for the October cover of ELLE UK. With both ladies being equally edgy in their own way when it comes to fashion, it goes without saying that this popular McQ McQueen look was styled very differently on them. Leading the way was No Doubt’s leading lady, who was styled by ELLE’s senior fashion editor, Natalie Wansbrough-Jones. Gwen wore the tulle floral appliqué skirt with an Autumn/Winter 2012 Peter Pilotto top, for a graphic cross between digi-print and 3D embellishment that only someone with the style prowess of Gwen could carry off. Rita wore the McQ McQueen black tulle tutu dress to the 2012 MOBO Awards, where the 21-year-old ‘Shine Ya Light’ singer picked up the gong for ‘Best Newcomer’. Completing her look was that preened-to-perfection blonde wig, her signature strong lip and gold bracelets, and strappy gold DSquared2 sandals. But who really pulled off this runway-perfect design? McQueen’s pieces never fail to leave us awestruck when they appear on the catwalk, but did the stylish ladies in question do the designs justice? We’re going with Gwen and her directional take on this one. Don’t get us wrong, Rita looked amazing, too, but when compared to the Jurassic Park-esque, Dilophosaurus frill-effect the dress carried on the runway (totally magic, we tell you), Rita’s flattened tulle neckline just didn’t cut it. It looked like a lazy effort to prevent Rita’s face from being hidden all evening, and for us, ruined the look. Gwen, on the other hand, well, can we ever […]
Read MoreRita Ora replaces Alexa Chung as face of Superga!
Hot singer-of-the-moment Rita Ora has just been named the new face of Superga, replacing former brand ambassador Alexa Chung. Don’t feel bad for Alexa though; she wasn’t unceremoniously dropped… it was more a case of her being too busy with TV commitments in America to carry on. Superga assures us that there’s no hard feelings though! Although we will miss Alexa and her effortlessly quirky and stylish ways, we’re excited to see what Rita Ora will bring to the brand and how she incorporates the iconic shoe designs into her wardrobe. We can expect to see Rita’s debut spring/summer ad campaign drop in March next year, so still quite a bit of time to wait to see what she and the brand have up their sleeves. Do you think Rita was a good replacement?
Read MoreWould you emulate Rita Ora’s style?
Eclectic, charming, culture clasher: terms that are probably most fitting to describe Jay Z’s latest recruit. We’re talking about 21-year old, Roc Nation-signed, embellished beanie toting singer Rita Ora who, from Kosovo-via-London, has carved out for herself a niche by way of melodiously catchy tracks and an uncanny resemblance to superstar Rihanna – her stateside sibling, some may say. Crooning alongside the musical elite on super hit tracks such as “Hot Right Now” and “R.I.P”, Rita’s note perfect vocals aren’t the only thing to have caught our attention. Her mash-up approach to dressing teeters on street-meets-elegance (a Hermès Birkin paired casually with Nike Air Jordan trainers), deeming it cool to tear up the style rulebook and dressing, rather than dancing, to the beat of her own drum. With her trademark blond hair, crimson lips and infectious wide smile, Rita’s style is often likened to another star who rather likes to make waves in the sartorial sea. Rihanna’s urban-inspired, fierce power dressing ways have seemingly rubbed off on Rita, (the love of tattoos; floral trouser suits; sporty footwear and, of course, a shared penchant for piling on the bling and razor sharp talons). Even Vogue online intervened for fashion purposes (a token of approval, maybe?), as they featured Rita on the Today I’m Wearing photo blog, where she showcased her eccentric style; a mix of Louboutins, NY Yankees jerseys, and a particularly bright Annie Phillips fur scarf. But she isn’t the only celeb to step into the limelight with this unusual blend of labels and looks. A pre-makeunder Jessie J was partial to an eye-hurting ensemble, and Lily Allen did the whole dress with sneakers thing back in 2006. But the question I find asking myself is this: is Rita’s style a genuine depiction of her personal choices, or is it a […]
Read MoreAre you a fan of Rita Ora’s floral jumpsuit?
We know that Rita Ora has often been referred to as the UK’s answer to Rihanna, but we think the singer is seeking inspiration from the Barbadian pop princess in her wardrobe as well as her music. A few months ago, Ri-Ri wore an Emilio Pucci silk jumpsuit that looked more like a pair of pyjamas (albeit luxury ones!) and now Rita Ora is getting in on the clothes-that-look-like-sleepwear action too. Don’t get us wrong, we love a good jumpsuit and playsuit, but don’t think this is the most flattering for a 21-year-old with an incredible figure. We do applaud her for putting her own stamp on her outfits though – we’re quite tempted to snap up a pair of those sunnies, but not sure we could pull them off without the bling and a record contract to match. What say you? [Image]
Read MoreRita Ora is ASOS magazine’s September cover girl
We all know that the September issues are the most important of the entire year, so we totally get why the ASOS mag is getting in there early by revealing its cover already. The ASOS September issue has none other than Britain’s answer to Rihanna Rita Ora on the cover, and as a result, it’s bold, tough, fierce and downright fabulous. All of our recent favourite trends are evident on the cover: denim, studs, prints and the over-all rock chick image, with lots of attitude to boot. On paper, the mish-mash of materials shouldn’t really work as it’s a bit OTT, but on Rita, it seems to be doing wonders! We think she was the perfect choice of cover star, and we can’t wait for it to come through our door so we can browse the editorial pics too!
Read MoreLove or Hate: Rita Ora at SiriusXM
Singer-songwirter Rita Ora, i.e. Britain’s answer to Rihanna, stopped by SiriusXM last week in a very vibrant, loud outfit which divided a few opinions at MFL HQ. It’s a little bit all over the shop as it offers a plethora of different looks all rolled into one. You have your glamour courtesy of the bold red lips and loose waves, your grunge/skater by way of the comfy trainers and skater skirt, your typical r’n’b artist thanks to the jacket and even more glamour thanks to those sparkly earrings that have definitely not gone unnoticed. There are a lot of ‘in your face’ parts of Rita’s look, but for us, the sparkly hoops (which we found out were diamond earrings from Jacob & Co) stood out the most. If you have a spare $78,000 casually lying around, you could snap up some for yourself right here…) We want to know whether you approve of the way Rita’s look was put together or whether it was all a bit ‘hot mess’ for your liking. Opinions below… [Images]
Read MoreRate or Slate Alesha Dixon, Rita Ora and Jada Pinkett Smith’s dress choices?
This week’s Rate or Slate was a hot topic amongst our fashionably clued up readers! To our Style Jury this week, we put Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon’s Julian MacDonald number, Rita Ora’s gossip-inducing, head-turning and question-raising cut out leather dress and wife to one of the Men In Black, Jada Pinkett Smith’s one shouldered Versace dress. Here’s what the rather discerning lot thought… Fashion News Ed says: Rita Ora: ‘Goodness, Rita looks, er… interesting. I’m saddened and somewhat offended by this sartorial choice, as I love her when she gets it right and opts for something tasteful rather than trashy. Definitely a slate from me!’ Alesha Dixon: ‘On paper, Alesha’s dress should be perfect, but it doesn’t do anything for me, or her, for that matter. I don’t know what’s up with it, but she looks like a jacket potato wrapped in foil. The majority of herBritain’s Got Talent wardrobe has been spot-on though so I have no idea what happened here. Maybe the stylist went home early?’ Jada Pinkett Smith: ‘Elizabeth Banks rocked the black version of this dress a few months ago, and I would have preferred Jada in that colour better as it would be a tad more age appropriate. However, she is still the best dressed out of these three, although it doesn’t take much this week!’ You say: ‘Jada looks ok, I wouldn’t say amazing but the best out of the 3. Rita & Alesha are far too OTT!’ – @KatieArmstrong via Twitter What is Alesha wearing? I don’t understand how she always gets it so wrong (doesn’t she have a stylist?) As for Rita, she looks a hot mess; I wouldn’t know where to begin. Jada nailed it even though the dress is for someone younger in my opinion.’ – Amelia […]
Read MoreGet the Look: Rita Ora in Hussein Chalayan
Rita Ora first hit the MFL when she turned up at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show at London Fashion Week looking super-cool in a tailored blue-grey trouser suit, red lippie and shades. Since then her retro-fabulous style has been catching our eye all over the place; from the Brit Awards to her evenings in London. Being Jay-Z’s latest protégée does nothing to harm her street cred, but we think her style merits its own respect. Appearing at the NME Awards, Rita looked like a vision in white wearing a Hussein Chalayan trouser suit from the designer’s S/S 12 collection. She paired the masculine-inspired look with a spiked Christian Louboutin ‘Marquise’ Python Clutch and a gorgeous pair of nude B Brian Atwood ‘Bambola’ pumps. She might have looked a million bucks but, thankfully, we have tracked down pieces which will let you get the look for less. 1. We love it when celebrities ditch the traditional dress code in favour of more quirky, up-tempo ensembles. Rita Ora: the new girl on the block who’s taking the music, fashion and star gossip charts by storm did just that at this week’s NME Awards. She looked a heavenly vision in white with an interestingly rebellious edge at the Awards, held at the Brixton Academy on Wednesday; sporting a fluid, white Hussein Chalayan spring/summer 2012 suit. The Hot Right Now singer ensured her look didn’t fall into boardroom territory by accessorising with gold jewellery and spikes. Rita opted for various gold necklaces, bracelets and rings, and finished her look with a statement Christian Louboutin ‘Marquise’ python clutch. She chose to break up the whitewash with nude peep toe B Brian Atwood ‘Bambola’ pumps. Showcasing her signature beach wave blonde curls, Rita opted for a strong scarlet nail colour offset by a nude lip and strong eyes. Rita’s edgy sense of style gives a clear indication of the direction her musical talent will take. She’ll definitely keep surprising the showbiz masses, and, we feel she bears an uncanny resemblance to our other rebel favourite: Rihanna.
