Wife of hip hop mogul Russell Simmons and Fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons has agreed to serve six months probation after being arrested last July outside the couples Saddle River Estate. The former model avoided charges of reckless driving and ignoring a police car’s sirens for several miles last July. She also faced drug possession charges as police officers found a small amount of marijuana in her car. Kimora pleased guilty in Superior court on Tuesday to careless driving and was allowed into the courts preterial intervention program for non-violent first time offenders. All charges will be dropped upon completion of the program.

“This is certainly an aberration, a onetime mistake of judgment,” said Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Wayne Mello. “It’s precisely the circumstance that pre-trial intervention was created for.”

Her lawyer Brian Neary was later quoted as saying “It’s an unfortunate incident, Kimora and her family are stellar citizens of Saddle River. They are glad that this is behind them.”
