It’s not often that I find myself wanting to be someone else, and even less often that I find myself wishing to be the opposite sex, believe it or not. But whilst browsing the rails at My-wardrobe’s special Autumn-Winter menswear preview recently, a small part of me wished I was a shirt-wearing, boot don-ing man.

The event gave us a chance to get an exclusive sneak-preview of the pieces that My-wardrobe menswear has bought for the coming season – and what a treat they have in store. Rails of clothes from top designers including favourites APC, Lyle and Scott and YMC were put together to create a truly must-have collection.

Speaking to Lee Douros, menswear buyer for My-wardrobe, he sees a certain post WW2 work-wear look coming through for AW10, with distressed leather shearling jackets mixed with lumber jack feel shirts. Another trend to watch out for is the country gent, a look that can be achieved with Barbour type jackets and a careful mix of fabrics, including courdrouy. ‘I really see cords taking over from the summer chino for the relaxed trouser, ‘ says Lee.

As well as the new-season offerings from all your favourite labels, My-wardrobe has teamed up with a number of selected brands to create exclusive collaborations. One to watch is the cool collaboration with Grenson that has seen their brogued boot transformed into a multi-material exclusive – The Fred Boot. You’ll have to wait a few more months to get your hands on these and the rest of the new collection, but with only 25 pairs made it’s probably best to start queuing up now anyway.
