Bayswater? Alexa? Pah, there’s a new collection of It Bags in town, and if you like your handbags luxury and leather, you’re in for a treat this morning. British brand Mulberry – read uber handbag gurus – has added a new family to its ever-bulging bag empire for AW10: meet the Neely.

Named after the lead character in the Valley of the Dolls, the Neely family, in all its quintessential English glory, is all about the detail – belted straps, buckle-clasp openings and shrunken-briefcase finishings, if we’re being precise about it.

Much like an old school satchel – massive thumbs up, in our books – the family offers three styles: there’s the Neely, the Neely Tote and the Neely Shoulder Bag, all of which are available in pillar box red, nude, steel grey and leopard print calf hair (we dare you not to stroke it).

We love the hand-held handle with gold hardware and optional over-the-body strap on the Neely – we’ll take ours in slate grey, thanks. Unfussy and unashamedly cool? Yep, the Neely family are set to become a Mulberry classic.

Available in Mulberry stores and online now.
