Little Dakota Fanning is the hottest young starlet in Hollywood right now, and it’s not hard to see why – just look at her au naturale good looks and now, most importantly, her impeccable fashion sense.

But wearing a grown-up strapless Valentino gown at the Bafta Brittania Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, the feisty teen looked overly mature beyond her years.

Now the dress itself is undeniably gorgeous – what with that timeless drop waist, blush champagne colouring and floor length finish and all – but its true beauty seems somewhat lost in this unforgiving image.

The young actress appears to be swamped by a mass of designer fabric, clearly meant for someone a lot older and, dear we say it, taller?

Maybe next time, Dakota, you should stick to something a little less refined.
