Christmas wishes can come true – just ask Blake Lively. Following rumours before the holidays that she was set to become the new face of Chanel, it seems the actress has indeed bagged herself a campaign with the luxury label, quite literally – she’s the new face of its Mademoiselle handbag line!
Following in the ever-stylish footsteps of Vanessa Paradis and Diane Kruger, Blake will appear in the campaign – shot by Lagerfeld himself, naturally – from March, modelling the all-new Chanel Mademoiselle bags which debuted at the label’s resort 2010 collection last year.
“She’s a kind of American dream girl,” Lagerfeld tells WWD of his new coup. “I think she will become a great actress. It [the shoot] was an easy job because everyone fell in love with her.”
And it seems Blake’s adjusting to her new role as ambassador rather well, too.
“I will always feel [the bag] is more than just a purse,” she says. “It’s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful ‘CC’.”
Quite the pairing, non? We do love a happy ending.
