The King of fashion Nicola Formichetti and Queen of music Lady Gaga admit they love nothing more than logging on and checking out the latest gossip on their Twitter sites – isn’t that what every celeb loves doing these days?

“I remember straight after the Mugler show, me and [Lady] Gaga just ran backstage and went onto our computers and went on Twitter to see what the fans were saying,” says Nicola.

In September last year Formichetti took over at the house of Mugler as the brand’s new creative director, and has since brought a whole new lease of life to the label with a little help from the digital world – heck, he even live streamed his autumn/winter 2011 catwalk show straight from the Mugler Facebook page, reports Vogue UK.

“Normally, you wouldn’t put pop music in a fashion show but it fits with the idea of the new Mugler world – the pop and the high fashion, the real world and the digital mixed with this fantasy world,” he says.

“My job was to resurrect the brand, and to pump it up and bring it to the new decade. I had this amazing history and archive but there was nothing for me to work with to make it contemporary. For me, it was taking those amazing historical ideas and transforming them digitally.”

Technology is the way forward, Formichetti.
