In a recent shopping trip at the weekend I noticed the high street was awash with loose, printed summer trousers.
Topshop had pairs in every print imaginable; leopard, tie-die, tulip, stripes, geometric. I saw the same in H&M, Urban Outfitters and All Saints.
I’ve never really been one for loud trousers, preferring instead to keep my bottom half simple, but this is one trend that’s slowly growing on me.
My trousers of choice are Acne’s snakeskin print peg leg pair. They’re softly coloured in pale grey and white and have an ultra flattering tapered shape. The side-zip fastening and pockets add interest to an otherwise simple silhouette, and the silky material is perfect for summer and keeping cool in the city.
Team them with a simple vest top and ethnic wedges for a relaxed glam look, and don’t forget the accessories – chunky bangles and geometric prints will add the perfect finishing touches.
