Before you say anything, we know, it’s not cool to gush etc., but it’s incredibly hard when your mind has been filled with fashion loveliness (yes, that’s a real thing).
We popped along to my-wardrobe’s autumn/winter 2011 press day yesterday, and let us tell you, you’re in for a right treat next season.
We can’t possibly cover all the cool things we saw, so instead we’ll break down the best bits that you need to look out for:
Everything from See by Chloe: a printed silk camel shirt, tobacco flares and a printed wide leg jumpsuit are all you need for sublime Seventies style next season.
Everything from 3.1 Phillip Lim: the easiest downtown designs you’ll ever wear, Lim’s low-luxe is perfected in layered textures, cool cropped knits and a silk-wool dress cut to look like a polished two-piece.
Acne’s cropped biker: it’s the softest buttery leather and boasts slouchy cropped sleeves for effortless edge. Oh, and it’s wine coloured. Also, Acne’s brogue wedges are the craziest kind of cool.
Tibi’s wool shift: A classic textured wool shift made cool with brown leather pockets.
Goat’s red dress: A little red dress has become a style staple, but it’s so hot next season. We love Goat’s 3/4 sleeve tomato-red mini for flirty Sixties fun.
Camilla Skovgaard zipped boots… actually, everything from Camillia Skovgaard: The cool cult designer’s created a genius shearling-lined boot with her signature scultped soles and, wait for it, two zips and poppers that can be unzipped and unpopped. There’s at least four different boots hidden in that one style if you’ve got time to be creative. She’s also designed a classic court shoe with zero architectural tread, but the soles are made from suede.
MySuelly: you’re about to meet a new handbag label to lust after – we’re seriously coveting MySuelly’s classic, colourful bags. Hands off the red one, that’s ours.
New designers: look out for Catherine Deane who crafts leather and luxury fabrics for utterly beautiful pieces, and Vince, an LA label already making a name for itself overseas for understated, luxe everyday wear.
Plus, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Zadig et Voltaire, L’Agence, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and MW Matthew Williamson, to name a few, will be debuting for the first time.
