They’ve consulted, they’ve inspired and they’ve landed campaigns, but as far as blogger-company collaborations go, Bag Snob’s debut handbag collection for DKNY is probably the biggest yet.
The popular blog that’s shot to success reviewing, among other things, designer handbags, has teamed up with DKNY on a capsule collection of handbags, set to bow in October later this year.
The collaboration will see five bags in total under the Bag Snob x DKNY label, reports WWD, based on Bag Snob’s style essentials: a tote, $495; a travel bag, $565; a ‘trendy’ bag, $325; a clutch, $265; and a treasure bag, $365 – all of which are modelled on Tina Craig and Kelly Cook, the blog’s founders, above.
The girls hit Twitter this morning to finally the share the news they’ve been keeping schtum about for the best part of a year.
“We are super proud of the bag collaboration – Bag Snob x @DKNY… it’s been 7 months in the making,” they tweeted, accompanied by the above photo.
And as far as websites to break your news go, WWD has got to score pretty high. Congrats, team Bag Snob!
This has got us thinking, though – surely this is a great scoop for the bloggersphere in general. What do you think about blogger-company collaborations? Will this do anything to change industry perceptions of bloggers? Will traditional media be bummed? Your thoughts below, please.
