News first broke earlier this month that former model, actress and French First Lady Carla Bruni might be pregnant, and since then, rumours have been rife as to whether the French Prime Minister’s wife is actually expecting. But, despite her denials, we can confirm she is pregnant, thanks to her 83-year-old father-in-law, Pal!

“I am delighted at the arrival of my grandchild,” he told a German newspaper. “They do not want to know the sex of the baby in advance, but I’m sure it will be a girl and she will be as beautiful as Carla.”

Bruni was rumoured to be expecting her second child as images of her with a compromising bump began to surface, making her first child with French President husband, Nicholas Sarkozy.

However, the actress also recently withdrew from the Cannes Film Festival, fuelling speculation she may be expecting twins, reports Vogue UK.

No official word from Carla herself has yet been made, we just hope she let’s us know if it’s a little boy or girl!
