Set to launch this coming autumn, a brand new collection of ‘Boy Bag’ handbags from luxury fashion label Chanel will burst onto the fashion scene, with a distinctly androgynous vibe.
The bags are based on the hunting cartridge style originally carried by Coco Chanel herself, embodying the androgynous charm the designer was well known for.
“Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel,” explains Karl Lagerfeld of the new collection.
“She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life, which, incidentally, explains why the new bag is called the Boy Chanel.”
The new and exclusive bags are available this September in all Chanel boutiques, in a pared-down palette of red, grey, and ivory, with glazed calfskin clutches and purses, and prices ranging from $2500 (£1500) to $4300 (£2600), reports Fashionologie.
That’s our Christmas wish list sorted.
