In what might be the perplexing partnership to have emerged since Manolo Blahnik and Timberland, Helena Bonham Carter is the surprise star of Marc Jacobs’ AW11 campaign, and we’re smiling all the way to our cereal.
The 45-year-old, who famously wore mis-matching shoes to the Golden Globes this year, is snapped lying on her back on a white rug wearing a champagne-pink scallop-edged dress from Marc Jacobs’ AW11 collection, her legs bent out and back like some sort of mermaid.
She’s wearing a pillbox hat, also from the collection, and a jolly great grin that says “ha! Who’s having the last laugh now?”.
We call it a surprise collaboration, but really, lest we forget Marc’s penchant for casting unusual campaign stars, we should know better. Bonham Carter, who usually wears Westwood on the red carpet, wore a Marc Jacobs resort dress to the SAG awards this year – a subtle signifier of what’s to come, we’re sure.
Our verdict? Yes, yes and yes!
