Another month, another Lady Gaga video, though we’re pleased to see this one’s a little different from her usual choreographed formula.

The video for Gaga’s latest song, Edge of Glory, is five and a half minutes long and shows no signs of the pack of monsters performing dance routines, motorbikes, or any of the other things we’ve come to expect as standard from the singer.

Instead, it’s a pretty stripped back film in which she skips up and down the same stretch of street, sits on a window sill, dances on the stairs, swings round lampposts and generally thrusts her pelvis a lot. It’s a one woman show that’s very Madonna meets Michael Jackson in the Eighties, but no surprises there.

Also interesting? There’s only two outfit changes. One’s a studded leather corset from Gianni Versace’s last collection, and the other’s a printed silk kimono shirt, also vintage Versace – neither of which she wears with pants, though she does accent her look with lots of studs and the label’s signature Medusa medallions.

Hair-wise, she’s back to that Cruella De Ville bob, which is a shame, really, because we rather liked the blue.

Watch the video below, and let us know your thoughts: do you like Lady Gaga’s more stripped down approach?
