So we’ve covered the Apple body shape. Now for the rectangle. For the leaner ladies sporting a ‘surfboard’ physique, save for bosoms and the illusion of a derrière; welcome to the rectangle shaped world. Yours is the figure most women want, albeit you crave J-Lo-esque curves to avoid looking uncannily like the latest Royal family addition.

Rectangle shapes are by far the least difficult for beach dressing. Your lean, muscular build and longer legs look fantastic in racy bikinis and sexy swimsuits. You do, however, have  a less defined waist, but with the right pieces a perfect silhouette can be created which accentuates your naturally athletic or ‘boyish’ shape to give the illusion of a more curvaceous frame.

The key with rectangle body shapes is to define the waist to give the illusion of a fuller top and bottom half. Create emphasis on the bust and hips by opting for bikins in bolder prints; add ruffles for volume and taper at the waist to create a more defined silhouette.

Take your pick from our curve creating top pieces to hit the beach in…
