Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner and television host Alexa Chung have sadly split after four years together.

Rumours began circling earlier this year that the couple’s relationship was sadly on the rocks, but a rep for the pair has now confirmed the separation is official.

‘Things haven’t been going well and they haven’t seemed like a couple for the past few weeks,’ one insider told the Mirror. ‘At Glastonbury festival, they barely said a word to each other.

‘Alexa was out seeing bands with all her buddies like Pixie Geldof and Fifi Brown, while Alex was on his tour bus chilling with his band.

‘They really wanted to give it a go to hold it together and seemed to be getting back on track – but things got bad again and they both decided enough was enough.’

Although no one is sure as to the reason behind the split, sources suggest Alex and Alexa simply grew distant, after their hectic work schedules meant they were spending increasing amounts of time apart, reports Marie Claire.

‘They are very busy and have grown apart, but want to keep the news quiet,’ confirmed the couple’s spokesperson.
