With their delicate swirling straps and golden rib-cage, these Moschino Cheap & Chic suede open toe sandals make me think of old-school glamour which, in turn, makes me think of next season’s scintillating jewel tones that these beauties would be perfectly adept at highlighting.
The emerald, amethyst, garnet, ruby, sapphire and citrine shades were born to rock our catwalks, and as a result, our high street for AW11. And delicate stilettos such as these are the perfect accessory for teaming with that glamorous floor-length gown.
If colour is important for next season, gold (with her similarly glam siblings: silver and bronze) will effortlessly complement deep luxurious jewel tones. Structurally, the shape of this shoe will show your feet off with subtle sexiness, plus they’re the ultimate platform for revealing your latest manicure.
With the strap detailing at the front of the foot, the long v-shaped upper straps help to elongate your legs and draw the eye up towards whatever suitably fab outfit you happen to pair them with – be it that fitted midi skirt, maxi skirt with the thigh-high slit or those cropped trousers.
But whilst that’s all said and done, and I can see the appeal of these shoes, especially with their old-style allure, they aren’t at the top of my wish-list this season. If I’m ever in the market for a pair of delicate strappy shoes, Gucci’s Kelis stiletto still maintains the top spot for me, even if they are last season.
