In case you haven’t seen enough pictures from Mosstock already, Vogue‘s September issue features quite the collection of Mario Testino’s official wedding pictures – but it’s this one of John Galliano fluffing Kate’s dress in the final stages that’s tugging at our heart strings this morning.
For the momentous occasion, Kate wanted “a classic Galliano, those chiffon thirties kind,” she says. “I’ve lived in his dresses for years, and they just make me feel so comfortable.”
But since Galliano was in rehab until just before the big day, he brought Kate “bags full of bits, and pulled tulle and sequins and veils and flowers out,” to make up for lost time, she says. “And then we just kind of pinned things together, like the old days, you know?”
For the designer, it was the project he needed to lead him out of his well-documented darkness. “She dared me to be John Galliano again,” he says. “I couldn’t pick up a pencil. It’s been my creative rehab.”
