Anne Hathaway always manages to work utter sophistication on the red carpet, and with her classic brunette locks and red lips, she seems to nail it every time.

So, when we saw the actress wearing a white tape ribbon embroidered dress from Alexander McQueen’s resort 2012 collection, teamed with a white jaw skull clutch and hazelnut whipstitch peep toes, also by Alexander McQueen, we knew she’d made one hell of a style statement at the One Day premiere in London last week.

Finishing off with a cluster of pearl and gold bangles to match her clutch, Hathaway proves that there’s little need for overloading the accessories when you’re rocking a McQueen masterpiece. Instead, it’s the small touches – hair swept to one side, a subtle slick of pink lipstick – that make this work.

And, with lace being a big hit for next season, she’s simultaneously on trend to boot.

Our only quip? The dress length is a little tricky to pull off – go the whole way or chop it off just below the knee to avoid looking dumpy.
