Cool collaboration alert: PPQ has teamed up with cult jeans label Lee on a capsule denim collection, set to be unveiled at the design duo’s spring/summer 2012 show at London Fashion Week on Friday.

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, PPQ will rework some of Lee’s most iconic pieces from the archive, including the super-skinny Scarlet jean and the Western denim shirt, using a combination of screen printing, embroidery and embellishment.

“The inspiration for the denim collaboration with Lee is taken from our PPQ crest,” says Amy Molyneaux, one half of PPQ. “The screen prints that will feature on the denim are an amalgamation of the gold PPQ initials in our logo, all of which will be present in the form of embroidered patches that will feature on the Lee denim Scarlett and denim shirt block.”

Two styles from PPQ’s collection will land straight into Lee’s Carnaby Street store on Saturday following Friday’s show, giving customers the chance to buy a limited run of 10 pieces, carefully handcrafted by PPQ’S production team.

“We are proud to be collaborating with PPQ for this London fashion week,” Nadia Kokni, Head of Consumer Communications at Lee, says. “We feel that our crafted denim styles strike a perfect balance with their directional and innovative styling. What is on the catwalk and for sale in the Lee store is something fun, accessible and on-trend, and we hope that fans of both brands will enjoy the collection.”

Look out for the bespoke London Fashion Week window at the store, too.
