As expected, the display of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress attracted a lot of attention, bringing a record number of visitors to Buckingham Palace (the Queen will be displeased).

We aren’t in the slightest bit surprised, of course. When we watched the soon-to-be royal bride step out of the car to reveal her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress, we all knew we had just witnessed a little piece of history.

And naturally, the world couldn’t wait for the iconic dress to go on display.

The exhibition opened in July, and although it only closed on Tuesday, the statistics are already in.

According to a palace rep, over 600,000 visitors stepped through the famous doors, which is quite a vast difference from the 413,000 that visited in 2010.

We don’t know when the dress’s next outing will be – the Duchess of Cambridge is determined to keep the dress in pristine condition and wants to limit the number of times it’s transported. Understandable, we guess.

Did you manage to see the dress?
