The Chanel spring/summer 2012 ad campaign appears to have been created by the ultimate dream team. With Karl Lagerfeld behind the lens and Carine Roitfeld on hand to take care of the styling, the end result was inevitably going to be fabulous.

Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls showcase the movement of the latest Chanel pieces as they pull structured, acrobatic poses in the black and white images, which were set against a stunning backdrop at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes France – the same place the Resort 2012 show took place.

While ordinary spring/summer campaigns would naturally choose to feature bright and bold colours and prints, Chanel has gone in the opposite direction, which is what ultimately sets it apart from the rest and makes it such an irreplaceable brand.

Muted elegance and timeless beauty is what we expect to find from Chanel – and that’s exactly what we got! Flawless as usual, Karl!
