As Chinese New Year is only a matter of days away, Dolce and Gabbana has decided to bite and bullet and issue an official apology to the people of Hong Kong over the alleged act of racism and prejudice that took place at a local store last week.
We still don’t know who said what to whom, and can’t separate the lies from the truth, but it doesn’t matter now as order has been restored!
“We understand that the events which unfolded in front of the Dolce & Gabbana Boutique on Canton Road have offended the citizens of Hong Kong, and for this we are truly sorry and we apologise,” the brand said in a statement. “The Dolce & Gabbana policy is to welcome the Hong Kong people and that of the whole world respecting the rights of each individual and of the local laws.”
Well, thank goodness for that!
This has been a good week for resolving disputes so far; maybe Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent will settle their ongoing battle of the red soles this week too?
