Well, that’s it guys, the wait is over – Raf Simons is officially in at Christian Dior, taking over from Bill Gaytten (who temporarily replaced John Galliano) as creative director.

“It is with the utmost respect for its tremendous history, its unparalleled knowledge and craftsmanship that I am joining the magnificent house of Dior,” Raf Simons said in a statement.

“Mr. Christian Dior has always been for me the most inspiring couturier. I am truly humbled and honored to become artistic director of the most celebrated French house in the world.”

Aww, we’re so happy for him! We can expect to see his debut collection at the helm of Dior from as early as July, just in time for the couture shows!

Go on then, be truthful: who had their money on Raf from the minute he stepped down from Jil Sander? Are you happy with this announcement? Let us know your thoughts, we’re intrigued!
