It really is all about London these next few months, what with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations coming up and the Olympic and Paralympic Games being hosted in our great city.

Therefore it makes perfect sense that the phone box – i.e., one of the only things equally as iconic and British as the Queen herself – is getting a special celebratory revamp.

Ok, the phone boxes are in actual fact being given a make-over to mark the 25th anniversary of the Childline charity, but we think you’ll agree that everything kind of goes together really nicely, doesn’t it?

Designers such as Giles Deacon, Julien Macdonald, Zandra Rhodes and photographer Willie Christie have been let loose on a phone box as part of the BT ArtBox project.

Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge will be displaying the works of art on Thursday 24th May if you want to check them out before they are displayed in different parts of London.

Some of the designs will then go under the hammer on July 18th at the National Portrait Gallery to raise money for Childline, while others will hit eBay.

What do you think of Giles Deacon and Julien Macdonald’s (l-r) efforts above?
