As London Fashion Week is fast approaching (where has the time gone?!) we thought we’d put this week’s designer spotlight on someone who made one heck of an impression last season… and that person is Dublin-born Simone Rocha.
She may have inherited her eye for fashion and detail from her designer father John Rocha, but Simone definitely got to where she is today on her own merits. Her work is instantly recognised as being a more modern extension of her father’s work, with the use of PVC, lace and metallics in her latest collection proving that she is taking a more contemporary and somewhat masculine route.
The 2010 Central Saint Martins graduate only made her London Fashion Week debut when she showed her Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2011 collections with Fashion East, but has fast become one of the designers we are looking forward to the most this season. And let’s not forget her gorgeous capsule collection for Topshop that launched in September last year, which proves that she is a versatile designer who is just as capable of catering to the high street too.
It’s not just us who love Simone Rocha – the celebs can’t seem to get enough of her either, as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Rita Ora and Lily Cole are just some of her famous fans that have been spotted in her designs.
Keep your eyes peeled for her new-season collection; we predict great things!
