We love discovering hidden gems when it comes to the world of fashion design, and jewellery designer Jane Gowans is no exception.
Graduated from Universityof Dundee in 2009 with a First Class Honours degree in Jewellery & Metal Design, Scot Jane Gowans hasn’t looked back. Working from her studio in Scotland, the designer combines traditional hand skills with cutting edge technology to create wearable designs with a contemporary edge.
For Autumn/Winter 2012, Jane designed the Geology Rocks collection: a 13-piece cocktail of rose gold, silver, 18ct gold vermeil and black oxidised silver designs reflecting the beauty of naturally occurring rock structures.
With names such as ‘Basalt’, ‘Stalagmite’ and Tectonic’ for her designs, Jane Gowans Jewellery adds a tough-luxe feel to any ensemble; pieces worth investing in if you like understated jewellery with conversation-sparking detail.
Our favourite piece from the Geology rocks collection? We can’t settle one so we’ll take the 18ct gold plated Tectonic bangle and the Delta pendant in rose gold, please!
