…they’re all fairy tale princesses of course. Joining the ranks of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella comes the fairest fashion princess of them all – the lovely Diane Von Furstenberg.
With two fashion fairy tales already under her belt (Mannolo Blahnik and the Tale of the Elves and the Shoemaker and Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty) author Camilla Morton has worked her magic on DVF with her latest book – Diane von Furstenberg and the Tale of The Empress’s New Clothes.
The plot combines the designers’ history with Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes to make for a great story. DVF as a fairy tale princess isn’t so surprising as the designer is actually a real life princess – she met her Knight (or Prince rather) in shining armour in the form of German Prince Egon of Furstenberg at just 18 years of age and the rest as they say is history.
It might be a bit late to gift as an xmas pressie but it’ll make a nice read over the holidays!
